Isn't it a little odd that LP-560s are faster than LP-640s now?

Not @ all. The development of the V10 is something totally new from post 2002 onwards whereas the V12 was brought over from Diablo. Don't forget that the Gallardo started with a lot of parts from the Audi parts bin.

The steering wheel, instruments etc were/are from Audi A4s.....so are the electronics etc.

The chassis was made in Ingostadt (Audi) then sent to St'Agata for fitting.

While the V12s are completely Italian. The engine blocks are cast, machined & finished in-house. The entire assembly is done in St Agata. They used to be painted in-house but now done @ a "neighbour".

The 560 is phenomenal, people actually par it against 599s & the like.

What do you guys think of the R8????

I've never driven one but seems that it fell out of favour very quickly & forgotten! I hear the V10 version sells for S$650K here! Geezz....

The V8 version was the Car of the Year for Evo?

The R8's a nice car, but at the end of the day it's still an Audi and (for better or for worse) you still go to PA for servicing, etc. High $600+ k was the quote I was given as well, which is... hmm. Considering that the cabrio is going to go for upwards of $700k, you have to wonder who is going to get that instead of a California for just a bit more.

    Well,the R8 V10 is just a different shell from the LP560-4 what,same engine,slightly detuned.so it's like comparing 918k to 650,268k diff?
Yeah 700k,just throw in 100k more for the F badge.isn't it better?

I think it bagged Car of the Year for quite a few mags, not only Evo. Reviews have praised the car very highly for its perfect balance, handling, etc. In fact, the V10 did not receive as high accolades as the V8 due to the extra weight upsetting the balance and the extra power is also virtually inaccessible on public roads.

The V8 retails for 500k but it's almost bare without any options so if you spec it up fully eg. carbon ceramic brakes, the price is also about 600..whereas the V10 comes with almost all the options at the listed price so I think it's more value-for-money.
