I'd like to learn more about #0102E that was used in the 1955 movie "The Racers" and I'm sure you guys can help me.

Barchetta.cc tells us the following: http://www.pirro.com/english/All.Ferraris/Detail/0102E.212Export.htm

"54 - rebodied as "Burrano" Spyder by Autodromo for the movie "The racers" "Der Favorit", see also 0272M the second movie car
according to Roush : "I inspected the car once and am convinced that under its "Burrano" skin it was still a Touring Barchetta".

Some sources claim it is the Morelli Spyder. No, the Morelli was on 0276 which is today 0330 but has no similarities with the Morelli body, it is coinsistence that both cars had in the late '80's and early '90's the same owner. Jackson Brooks had 0276/0330 without body and sold it without body."

    What does Burrano stand for?
Is there any more recent knowledge about the body's origins?

And how did the Morelli body look?

Thanks. So it seems that the side pipes are an even more recent modification than the rebody.
And the radiator seems to have changed as well. In Ed's pics I'm also missing the sharp crease over the side.

I've not seen the movie...but note the difference between the radiator grill during the Mille Miglia, with the central fog light, and the other race (without)...

Clearly, a post-Niles owner wanted to reinforce its status as the car from "The Racers" by putting on the sidepipes and the central grill foglamp seen in the movie.

Thanks Michiel Mobiel for these pics of the movie. It's funny that 0102 has the plate Roma 199771 of 0272, the other "Burano"...

The photos came from here: http://imcdb.org/vehicle_172025-Ferrari-212-Export-1951.html
I've never seen the movie, though...

In this thread you see the other "Autodromo" Spyder that was used in the movie: http://imcdb.org/vehicle_172027-Ferrari-166-MM-53-1953.html
And I guess you may also like the image shown here: http://imcdb.org/vehicle_172151-Ferrari-166-MM-53-1953.html

And in another thread about this movie someone said: "As this car was, together with the 166 MM/53, bought by the Studio from Ferrari, entered the ’54 Mille Miglia, and then shipped to the USA for the rest of the shots, there both were probably used also more or less disguised in different scenes, supposed to appear as different cars."

Can anyone tell me more about Autodromo?

Autodromo was (is?) a manufacturer of bus bodies in the Modena area. They were apparently not a body builder or shop in the sense of Drogo, et al.

I am now the owner of 0102 Export and want to return the original body to its Touring configuration. Are there any photos out there to help me? Thanks, Tom Peck
