    Good sense of humor by the test pilots. I actually flew on a few test missions in N750CX back when I was an engineer at Cessna.

    There is a whole history of guys doing "flightaware skywriting." It started with some Gulfstream guys doing a coldsoak flight, who wrote "GV" over the midwest.

    how would you do this, just request vectors as you go? as hard of a time I have just getting a Direct To, I can't see how they would let you just vector anywhere on command.

    The way you do it is to lay out a series of points, preferably using VORs, in advance, and then file that route. If there isn't a VOR where you want to make a turn, you file lat/longs. Then you refuse any directs offered to you when airborne.

    Cessna operates its test aircraft under special call signs beginning with "Cessna Test". ATC generally gives the test flights a lot of lattitude in vectoring.
