Sorry , sorry , sorry. I do not mean that this peticular car is that other car.
I would imagine damage to the roof section of the frame not properly repaired directly impacts the integrity of the windscreen's frame, judging by this illustration... Image Unavailable, Please Login
I merely cut and pasted what I had said two months ago. I heard the car has a salvage title and that it hit a light post. The other Countach that I had mentioned was a roll over. While it looked proper cosmetically the fact remained that it broke two windscreens. That being said I would conclude that the frame damage was not addressed properly.
Joe, does this Countach 5000 been modified by Achili Motors ? In fact these pics were taken back in 1991 in Belgium, all 3 CC belonged to Claude Thiry, if I remember correctly the yellow one was a LP400 converted in S. My interest is about the white 5000 with sunroof/blue interior, Thiry claimed it was a factory sunroof... Any comment or affirmation ? Thread needs more S1s. Pic from the night I picked up my old S1 (graduated up to an enclosed trailer later in life) Image Unavailable, Please Login
Dont know about the sunroof, but the yellow one is the converted LP400 I saw at an exhibition in 2000/2001, described as 1976 LP400, redone as 5000 in early 80, the asking price was 1.750.000 BEF, converted to modern currency about 43.000 euro. Any idea about the VINs ?
I'm going to step a little OT here... Here is something of passing interest to those noting Walter Wolf history... IMO, this is still true. Brawn GP is not a "new team"... Since I quoted Joe here, and in the interest of getting back on topic... who remembers this gorgeous creature? I believe the vin for the car that you posted is ELA12668. Now as for the vin of the roll over Countach that I have mention with the windscreen problem I haven't a clue as it was many many years ago, at least 15. All I know is that it was a black Countach. Vic
No Kevin, I don't know about VIN. What I remember is that Thiry bought one or two CC from Phil. Olczyk who was selling sport cars in Belgium under "Scuderia Evoluzione" name back in late 80's and '90s. Ciao, Olivier PS : Hello Phil... if you read this post !!!
Olivier: I dont know if this Countach was modified by Achilli, but I do know the cars they converted sometimes had 'creative' use of badges, so you can draw your own conclusions. Also, I cannot say for sure if the factory did any sunroof cars. I do know the yellow one is an LP400, 1120200.
Olivier, this is the same car in the 80's http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=139091934&postcount=4238
just for the guys who still are thinking a 25th aniversario isnt looking good... Image Unavailable, Please Login
S1: best looking countach to me, here 1121034, Emilio, we need new shots of yours! Image Unavailable, Please Login
The Annivesario looks good. Despite its controversial styling, it has the benefit of 15 years of Countach development, and is the most reliable, best-handling Countach built. Speaking from personal experience.
1. personal taste 2. the QV handles the same if the suspension setting is adjusted to the same PZero instead of P7 tires 3. Reliability is the same, the heat isolation is better on the 25th Speaking from personal experience too...
same experience here, only 15 years=11, very good car for the buck! In another thread someone is asking how much the costs are to own a countach, well, get a good 25th anniversario and the costs are very low! I don't know about the FI model but i seriously think this is the best Lamborghini's ever!
