I saw a TVR while crossing the street yesterday and I thought it looked really good! Why don't we have any TVRs in Singapore? They're made in RHD after all.

Here's an example of a TVR.

I was just looking to see if there are TVRs available locally! I want to get a Sagaris... I think there might be a few in Singapore, but very old ones.

Dude, a Porsche is not an exotic. (here we go again) Yes, that is right in my books even though I love it to bits. We buy PI to save money & Porsche is fine because they build quality stuff with little to worry about after sales. Parts are also plenty for non-exotic prices.

However, try to hawk your car when it's unloved & see what happens. All PI cars suffer on re-sale except maybe Japanese.

On another hand, buying an exotic car of over S$500K will need very good reasons to justify. Agents are more than quick to keep u outta their workshops, parts will take long time to come or simply pay a hefty fee to "join the club".

Speaking of that. How are your guys experience with all the few exotic's agents?

ES was very active with events, trackdays, drives, meetups but gone quiet for about a year now (except quarterly trackdays) & the club never materialised.

I thought it's kaput?? It was sold to a young Russian who promised many things but went very sad. Read one of the last moments of the company in blackpool with moulds thrown in the open etc.

I first saw it in the movie swordfish & wow what a car!

One chatter here brought in a LHD unit, had it converted to RHD & then re-export. I saw it once @ Ubi few years ago.

    Jon,

you dont have to hit something to roll. If the ground has a step off, or a light step up, you are just as likely to roll all over.

I dont use bolt on unless there is a strong back plate installed on the other side of the chasiss. General Rule.

Welded is the best, you also deal wit less creaking noise but the Rollbar/cage will always remain in that particular car.

i heard agent for aston does not charge adoption fees or give PI car owners any grief. If you have the correct paper work, spore agents have to honor worldwide service warranty. some get a bit nasty but the short story is they have to honor the warranty. i have a bm 7 series PI. Performance has been very professional with their service and i had no trouble with them. I have just ordered another car from them because of their good service.

Yes, I concur on the international warranty part but u know what the agent tells you. I had a PI Merc before, C&C wanted about S$3K before they would look @ it but that's some years ago. Is the PI you spoke to capable of getting factory honoured warranty? Most PIs I know bring in from ADs from UK etc. then buy a local insurance to cover limited warranty for you. U are possibly right about AM, I've heard that a client brought in one direct from factory but not sure if it's Singapore or Malaysia.

I've also came across a Porsche that was bought directly from Porsche Asia or some direct source by-passing Stuttgart. Anyway, Stuttgart upped the game with 5years full warranty covering all fluids & clutch/brakes if I heard right. U only pay for tyres!

Another issue with PI is their OMV. I'm sure you already know a fair deal about this by now. Some actually give higher than agents but most are simply atrocious. I just saw a used, 2-owner PI M6 with S$63K OMV selling for S$298K...... this car is at least half-a mill from Performance & an OMV of min. S$150k.

actually, the way they've worked out their numbers, u actually benefit if u track the car ... those who use their cars sparingly end up subsidizing the trackies ...

i agree. the scud at a pi has an omv of 220k ... altho it was 330k when sold thru hs ... the difference is more than reflected in the selling price.

Technically, you need rollcage to fully engage with HANS. Do not use it without a proper rollcage and 6 point harness.

There are people who argue that the structural work of a car is strong enough. You be the judge.

I used it on my street BMW M3, but assuming you call the full weld in cage, no ac and semi slicks on it all the time as "road"...It also has crazy final drive ratios and full lock LSD.

I think the Sagaris looks awesome, but TVR only makes manual cars though. I suppose since they're a small company, you might be able to order a custom auto.

You're right! Wikipedia says it's changed ownership to some Russian guy, but he hasn't produced any cars after acquiring it since 2006.
