Greg, you are not thinking of selling your car are you?
I asked first!....should I sell the house or the wife? (kinda like the wife) The wife has a sister though... what will you take in trade?
Thanks for weighing in on this Joe. This is very interesting to me... I still wonder if this is a properly engineered way to "easily"* lower highbody cars that hasn't been considered before. I mean, excuse my enthusiastic ignorance, but wouldn't it stand to reason that the Anniversary spec suspension, used on other highbody cars, would bring their noses down from the "4X4"-esque height they are, using Lamborghini parts/engineering? * - In this instance the word "easily" is a relative term.
Sure LP500S and QVs can be lowered and I can think of several that exist that way here in the USA, for example Chip B's black QV and James C's Pearl white QV DD (pictured driving on the 405 freeway in So Cal). One word: springs. Image Unavailable, Please Login
As far as I know only the toe in and chamber of the rear is different, it was adjusted to the newer PZero tires, I'll check the parts manual this evening, from my memories the QV had a rear axle change after GLA12936, since then the same as 25th but I'll check that. Since I have the Diablo 2wd Koni's installed I can adjust the ride height of my car, but in limits the front tires rub already in the fenders.
To my it looks like the LP400S S3 and the 5000S car's are standing higher on the front as a QV or perhaps it just looks like that because of the 205 tyre the have instead of the 225? If somebody can measure the hight of the top of the frontfender exacly at the center of the rim i will measure this on the anniversario later today, actually we should do this with a QV, a 5000S and the anniversario, interesting!
the fronttrack is smaller from the lowbody + smaller tyres, those 2 things will be the biggest problem to lower the "high body cars" at the front like the low body, the tyre with hit the fender. Also i think the "belly" from the QV sits lower and will hit the ground to easy, i wouldn't lower a "high body" to much, its just impossible to get the same looks as the low body car :-(
also the body is actually different in the early cars with that i do not mean lowbdy cars are better...for me some more headroom and ground clearance would be great p.s. i agree with the guys that say the anni is lower than QVs...slightly but it is lower i agree, to the eye is lower
I havent driven an anniversary, but do recall from my frinds car which was along the road form my house that it seemed lower. He sadly didn't drive his car much so we never got them on the road together I haven't had my QV 'bottom' out when driving, and would worry if it started 'rubbing' in the wheel arches! I have driven my car quite fast on bumpy country roads to the point of the car being airborne but don't recall any problem. I remember it happening in a diablo SV on bumps at 130mph which was very scary! do the 'lowbody' cars rub? Seems more likely and if so why on earth would anyone want that modification!!!! Paul x
Damn, I had forgotten the differences in track width and tire sizes... "enthusiastic ignorance" indeed... Emilio: I'll say it... Lowbody cars are better. Paul328: Why would anyone want this modification? Because the highbody cars look like an unlimited hydrofoil racing boat, in that moment right before it blows over, killing the driver. As someone who can only look at these cars right now, the highbody cars are like beautiful women... wearing burlap burkas. Of course, I jest. They are all beautiful, even the Anniversary, when compared to any other car. But when comparing Countach to Countach, the lowbody cars speak to me. They say things like "pervert" and "stop staring at my spats!" Like women, the best ones are... moody. Still this is interesting, to note the differences in the cars, especially considering the changes made below the skin for the final variant.
the issues with lowbodys are essentialy these 2: - less headroom - ground clearance...you must be carefull at speed - bumps, holes on the road...etc i have to put wooden pieces under the car just to go in and out the box... tyres do not rub fenders, never happened to me if you can go over these 2 issues they do look superb are super flat on acceleration-braking-corners and handles go kart - like!

Two questions: 1. Can anyone tell me the chassis number of this car? 2. Can anyone elaborate on Garage Thepenier? Images copyright Francis Muller. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
If remember well it was the Maserati importer/distributor in France at one point.. Philippe M S2 7987 www.lamborghinimiura.com
Yes, unless you have a fair amount of road kill in your area. I had a car that was lowered to about the height of a low body, not much clearance underneath. I hit a skunk one night, and you could hear the thing drag slowly under the car for some distance. Ugh!
Same happened here but with an ice bag, then it got stock in the exhaust and the smell of burning plastic lasted for more than six months.
These pictures are a perfect example that is lost today.....look at the Countach compared with the cars in the photo. It just say WOW. The shape was not of this world.
