Suzuki is apparently going to announce in a few days that they will not import ANY 2010 motorcycles since there are so many leftover 2009 bikes still in showrooms and warehouses.

Like the old Chinese saying, we are living in "interesting" times.

    Ouch

I am mostly a dirt rider and used to love Suzuki's but they have mostly gotten out of that market and left it to Yamaha, Husqvarna,KTM and Honda

Honda is the real surprise for 2010 with lots of new street bikes for 2010. Our 2010 Fury sat in the showroom for 3 weeks before we sold it.

On the other hand Honda will not produce a TRX500FA Rubicon for 2010 and those are our largest seller so we are buying them up from other dealers. Honda also for 2010 will not produce any watercraft as they have way to many 2009 in stock.

With the rebates that Honda is offering we have been selling tons of 2007 CRF250R and 2008 CRF450R models. the problem is we cannot get out hands on enough of them.

I guess our dealership is the exception as our sales are above the previous years.

So what is a good price to pay for a new 2009 (or 2008 if they are even out there) Suzuki GSXR750?

All this talk is making me think I should go out and buy one....so what can I expect to pay?

The 1.99% financing is the icing on the cake!

A lot of dealers are willing to deal right now. I would go and get quotes from several local dealers and start a bidding war to get the best deal. When i lived in IL it was not uncommon to hear about dealers selling new units at there cost and throw in $1000.00 in accessories just to get them off of the flooring bill.

I have not worked for a Suzuki dealer for a couple of years so I don't know what dealer cost is on a GSX-R 750 my best guess would be $8K-9K.

Thanks for the input. If I can pickup a new 750 for $8500 and get $1000 in accessories, I'm in! Any Suzuki salesman in this forum? Drop me an email, I'll throw you my business...

Are 2008 models still sitting on showroom floors, or should I be looking for a 2009? I'm not a "race bike" guy in the sense that I don't need the latest and greatest, but I have been riding for years, took a break when I got married, and now I want to get another bike. I'm more of a "for show" kinda guy, so 2008/09 really doesn't make a difference to me, as long as I find a color scheme that I like. Don't need the power of a 1000, and I find a 600 a bit small-

IIRC the 07-09 GSX-R 750's are all the same other than the graphics. One thing to remember is if you finance through the dealer they are more than willing to deal with you as they get a kick back from the finance company. Just pay attention to the freight, set up + prep, and documentation charges. This is another cash cow for dealers and you will find the charges all over the place;)

Per Dirt Rider magazine, Suzuki will release its 2010 models in Spring 2010...

Dirt bike models yes. The problem I see with this strategy is a privateer racer looking to race arenacross or supercross will not have the new iron available to them prior to the season starting up. With the EFI RM-Z 250 getting released for 2010 the rider will not have time to tune it to there liking.

This will hurt Suzuki in terms of sales. This might be a reason why both of Suzuki's 450 factory riders jumped ship to other teams for 2010.

With that said Honda is not releasing its 2010 CRF450R until Feb 2010. Honda is hoping that they can clear out the 2009's with huge rebates prior to putting 2010's into the dealers hands.

does this mean there are "supposedly" a lot of leftover 2009 Rubicons?
i had an 2003 and sold it (was moving and had no where to keep it) but i have always wanted another one.
or are they just not making it anymore?

That is the million $ question. I have not been able to get a straight answer on this one. Your best bet is to start checking your local dealers. I can tell you we are out of stock of Rubicons.

Spent most of the day calling around for a 2008-09 GSX-R 750, and these dealers are all over the place on price... But none of the "deals" which I would think! The ones that were advertising 2008 GSX-R 750's for $7899 online (new) of course were sold out, but had 2009 for 10k....yeah, right, like you are going to talk me up into that purchase!

I don't know if its just the dealers I called, or what, but nobody seemed to want to deal. Could not find a 2008 anywhere, and the best price on a 2009 is $9600+tax

Its funny because I was telling the salesman that I'm calling around and buying whoever gives me the best price, and some of them still wanted to stick at MSRP-$500 rebate....

This is right at the start of the slow season for bikes, too. In December and Janurary they'll be hurting even worse. Spring won't roll around for quite awhile.

Why would you purposely mislead (lie to) someone who's looking for information? IF you worked for a Suzuki dealership (like you stated,) then you damn good and well know that a GIXXER 750 dealer cost is nowhere near "$8-9K." Those would be reasonable "out-the-door" prices. ($8500 OTD is a good place to start.)

Telling someone to pay 12 large for an 8 large bike doesn't help anyone.

Markup on a new motorcycle is not much dealers make there profit on financing, setup charges documentation fees. Etc.

Honda has a bunch on non current atv, pwc and motorcycles in their warehouses.

Suzuki is allocating 2010 250's next week. The decision has not been made on 2010 street bikes.

Found a 2008 GSXR750 for $8500 plus tax/tags....given the 1.9% financing offer, I don't think you can go wrong with it!

2008 GSXR600 can be had for $6500 plus tax/tags....I was shocked! But didn't want to go down to a 600 as appealing as the price was
