Haha that's true! 90% of the previous posts have been contributed by him..instead of him catching up with us, it's the other way round..
Been around, my friend. Just lurking and enjoying the posts.... Anything exciting happening this weekend? (Sorry, I lack the stamina to read every post in this fast-moving forum)
What is your want on the $200K? U've got two Ferraris & something else for the family. If it's a GT, runabout & Malaysia trips plus your family. 996 will be the one plus lots of tuning potential. Easier to live with & very liquid. Noble is interesting. Very fast, very light but strange look means only petrolhead knows what it is. Re-sale will be painfully slow...... Btw, don't mind sharing where else I can find a used 996TT?
there's a magazine photoshoot outside the Fullerton between a gorgeous black QP GTS & the Stuttgart pig. Honestly you put the 2 side by side you have to wonder why anyone wud buy the pig! damn that thing is ugly
It is extremely smooth. I didn't even feel the gearshifts & then it's on 6th withn few hundred metres! Not sure how it does on track though. Now Derek, this has got to be the best idea! Since u've always eyed the 16M conversion If it's a cheap part, why don't u just internet it & have them fix here or have a talk to their workshop manager/parts dept then give em your FedEx account. Tip a little on the way & I'm sure all your parts will be here within a week giving u early joy I do this very often. Some parts take more than 6 months from EU simply becos they want to consolidate all orders.
You mean till now you dont know that the beautiful is good to look at, but a damm ***** to live with. While the not so hot is always not appealing visually, but always more practical. And yes, its applicable in more ways than one
yeh it's very efficient .. in fact I personally feel it is too efficient .. much like the Cali's gearbox. It takes away from of the passion of driving .. but then I did say the same thing about the flappy paddles & look what Im driving now!
yup absolutely agree .. I've just need to source a 16M nose. the buggy is with the water lady having its assed fixed from the sepang mishap .. and I told her to clean up the front end but don't go overboard with a permenant fix as I have "other things" in mind
problem is .. they're all warranty parts otherwise I'd go that route. HSM have them all in stock, but then I've got to pay $$
Anyway, for the record. Nobody could solve my heavy steering issue on my 964 which has power steering. Not even Stuttgart etc with all blaming on the wider front tyres. I think not cos I've had 235 R19" on non power steering before with no issue. This is the 1st 911 to have power steering. I looked @ the car, it is pointing head-down slightly. So I increased the front ride height by 5mm to balance it, I should measure front & aft later for same height. Maybe the boys did it higher but wala! The car immediately feels norm, lighter & easier to live with. Might have to do an alignment check on camber & toe in/out. I believe it does help better on turn-in such as tracking etc as a heavier front feels more connected @ high speed & sharper. So the previous guy lowered the front for it. I guess it's the same for all cars based on geometry/physics or whatever. Maybe Front, mid & rear engine layouts may vary but u guys can try simple height adjustments for fun & cheap! I lowered my Murcie by 10mm all round & it feels sharper+more predictable. Exhaust I had straight through from header back, no cats & just some fibre in the muffler box. It is light & probably saved 15kg+. It sounded great but so great that the drone almost made me deaf from 2K-2.8K rpm which is cruising speed. Added a restrictor & no use. I fitted back the factory set & it is very quiet now bar the nice air-cooled engine note. However, the car felt sluggish with no immediate pounce upon gas. So, it's a trade off that I can live with. In other words, non-cats does improve performance but you'd need to watch out for resonance in your cabin.
got it .. it's easier if I post the reply here. for those able to attend the Make-A-Wish drive this coming Saturday .. the meeting venue will be carpark F1 East Coast Park (that is close to the Laguna flyover - ECP exit 7) for a 6.15pm departure to the kids birthday party. I suggest we get there early (5.30) so we can mingle and take photos etc, as we will need to leave promptly given he has a party to attend. It will be a slow drive into town given our passengers medical condition, but anyone who can afford an hour or so out of their Saturday will be greatly appreciated I am sure. I also wont be able to hang around as I have a dinner on afterwards, so will take off once we've reached the party venue.
Dude, I know your thought on this. But for all the trouble+time you've been shuttling up & down LengKee + rainy season with a jammed open top..... think about it. Tip a little. Otherwise, bring in your own, fix it or HSM for the matter & write a nice letter on efficiency. Ok, that's it, I'm probably blacklisted now Have u called KBS on the brake part? U can keep the calipers which are the expensive part. They are Brembos. Just order new discs & pads. I would at least do the pads first. Get Ferrodo or others but not too aggressive ones or they'll eat your discs fast.
the pig might be a better car .. but i can't own a car that makes me gag every time I look at it .. no matter how good it might be
haha yes I hear ya (& you're not blacklisted) .. they said on Saturday that the parts are "on their way" so I hope that will be the end of it .. only waiting on the window motors now which I imagine wud be quite exxy without warranty. Re brakes I've had a few people swear me off non OEM parts so I'll probably stick with those.
just going to put on a few detailing touches- italian polizia stradale. problem noe is i had a strange gurgling noise from the gearbox on fri nite. had it sent to ben n at same time doing timing belt n tappet adjsmts. looks like anor long term $$$$ideliner. $$$$igh
