For me I like the way it feels as its a Porsche not a Ferrari or Lambo and Porsche are generally more of a comfortable and usable sports car which goes well with that gearbox.

Similar concept to the GTR and I enjoy using the car daily! Fast, comfortable, can go everywhere!

Ken, we need more details. Cruising or sporty, local or import? & of course how much :D

For import & cruising. I would get a classic Mercedes. D type, 280SE convertible etc. 2 doors Bentleys that were coach built are quite sexy too.

Sporty? Yes, any classic pre-70s Ferraris, Bizzarrini or even Maserati like Gibli etc would be contender. Or even BMW3.0 CSL. Heck, it can even be a nice Lamborghini :)

Local cars that are 'cheap' fun would be Alfa spiders etc & 911s for less than S$200K

Well. They did it. I read somewhere that Porsche announced that it will be a one model only, meaning no future updates. It could be rumour & there is already concept drawings using it's platform for the new "928" supercar. A front engine V8.

Screw the warranty! What's the point of it when u're going to wait & wait but I guess the problem he has are minor fixes.

    Sell it. ;)

    Leang, there's a little function on the far-right for multi-quotes ;)

General rule of thumb for newer cars is x 2.27.

I'm not too familiar & there's a few guys who have done it. Classics must be above 30yrs old. The road tax will be reduced. 28days usage which is probably OK since you have a few cars.

Import tax is 130%+GST+COE. GST is a must based on your invoice. I think there's reduction on duty & COE.

For what I want, I will shop for a sub-S$100K car then bring it in. Will be well under S$300K all in & cash paid since nobody will finance it. I will only shop for mint examples or rebuilt ones. Not project cars, as they are always money pit & local workshops aren't too reliable anyway.

I think you have more choices and far cheaper to have them in Australia, isn't it?

under classic car scheme must b over 35 yrs old from date of orig.regn. i think customs duty is 20% of omv+ 5% gst. shld b right hand drive, pristine n orig ,according to lta. u pay 10% of pqp ie. coe. road tax is 280 per annum flat (so buy big cc car more worth it- 512bb ,daytona). max useage 28 days per yr.on regn i think u pay 100% omv as ARF.

A used 560 spyder will be nice for short term use (interim) for 458 or if u move out. Reliable engine/trans, good cabin, fast & wow factor if u call it.

Otherwise, facelift your 430 & go for the warranty update. Very useful when u do track it.

NA cars dont benefit so highly from ECU Remaps bro... dont feel the need to do it. Better for me to learn to drive the damn thing faster. Also putting the exhaust back to stock... hahaa

funny... i have the exact same thoughts... the TT will absolutely obliterate a lot of things out there on 4 wheels with some additional money.... and will do so reliably...

just for the record MP and I "dated" the same dame some years back....
