    Hey guys,

please forgive me as I am sure this topic has been asked and re-asked many times over the yrs but unfortunately after an advanced search I did not find anything.

What are the service costs on a 430?

    What is the maintenance schedule?

Any problems or known defects (ie like 355s- headers, valves than like most fcars stickiness shrinkage)?

I love 430s but know very little about them. My favorite fcar is a 355 so I spend most of my time researching into those.

No idea -- you can contact them directly (Universal Autosports -- they are on this board).

Do independant places like this typically have the SD2 readers? Are SD2 readers required for a brake fluid/clutch fluid change- I've heard that they are but I don't know why....

I paid about $400. for the 1st and 3rd years, $1000 for the 2nd and 4th at Ferrari of Denver. We're only talking about fluids, filters and inspections here. No reason it should cost much. I don't have my service book in front of me, but I know spark plugs are due at 30K which will add a little.

I don't have any personal experience with 355/328. Major/minor service of my 360 was somewhere in the neighborhood of the price listed. You can contact Universal Autosports directly -- they have an entire forum on this board. I am sure they'll be happy to clarify.

I'm surprised the aftermarket hasn't developed a chain system that replaces the older style cam belts. I bet a lot of 360/355/etc. owners would upgrade to maintenance-free chains.

Not as easy as it sounds since belts are basically external parts but chains need lubrication.

That makes sense.. I didn't realize the chains were continuously lubricated.

I don't have the service book in front of me, I'll check later. Speculating a little, maybe the accessory belts especially if five years old. Somewhere along the line, an alignment should be checked. Hopefully these motors won't be prone to leaks which would be another area needing attention. I've not heard of leaking problems yet.
