I think 20K for a car with a dead broken engine is too much. But ... if you wanted a series III this has to be the type (not the exact one) most desireable of the series III because it doesn't have the ugly bumpers.

Looking thru this website I found a color wheel posted by Jim Fox some years ago and there is a color called Rosso Alfa that looks non metallic and was an original choice on 350GTs. I would love to see a car that color for reference.. Anyone have any shots

Jim is the one who gave me some build information on my car Gary. Specifically, the color and over on the Jarama thread we're trying to find a reference for a formula for that color. Can you tell where this "color wheel" link is?

    Thanks

Yes Philppe I know what you mean. This Saturday I'm hoping to join a friend of mine who just got his Miura back from an engine rebuild. We hope to drive the Espada (he used to own one) his Miura, Daytona and a new Porsche. Prayin' for good weather and I'm also parking the Espada for the winter.

I see the oft-listed Series I from Louisiana finally got a bid on ebay. I would have liked to have been behind him on the freeway when the rear window fell out...

Did anybody know that car? Judging by what the white S1 brought awhile back, could this have been a reasonable price?

Would like to find one in similar condition eventually, but with a lot of the lower priced exotics, it seems like the vendors think way too much of their cars?

    Espada dudes

My carbs are currently in peices at the Gran tourismo who are doing the engine and they work on alot of 400 Ferraris and 365s with side draft webers. Sometimes there customers up size the main jets to eliminate a known hesitation on those cars under hard acceleration between 2500 and 3500 RPM. This in expensive upgrade eliminates that. Is this something known to espada owners and has anyone done this ?

Joe Paukner, one of our best local vintage V12 experts, just rebuilt my Espadas carbs as part of a major engine freshening. I don't believe he changed the jets from stock and the car runs beautifully. I haven't noticed any hesitation, but if the weather allows I'll take it out for the last run of the season to make sure.

    Hi Gary,

Just a note about main jet sizes. The size specified in my owners manual was 120. What I found in the carbs was 115. I thought someone had changed them but after a discussion over on VLG I was informed that the owners manual was incorrect and that 115 is what people were using. I am in fact chasing a madening hesitation but it's not at hard acceleration. It disappers when driving the car hard. Mine is at a constant throttle position so the rpms can vary depending on your gear. I tried the 120s and no luck for me. Others seem to have no such issues so I have to conclude that it's probably something particular with my carbs.

Why would these guys be trying to assign Ferrari problems to an Espada? I wouldn't go looking for solutions to a problem you don't have. Unless your car has some emissions related jetting in it I would stick with stock. You do that once the car is assembled and running anyway. Trust me, there will be enough other "stuff" to do.

Oh that's right, it was an automatic the last time it was listed. What a piece of work that project must have been. It was a custom 5spd to automatic conversion wasn't it?

I initiated the question as the thought of more power is always worth investigating...

    Hi Gary,

It sounded as if your techs were trying fix a hesitation you don't have. If you have the emissions modified version then I'm with you. Otherwise, why would Lamborghini the designer of these cars the leave more power so easily obtained with new jets on the table?
