I've been thinking about your port modification and short inlet manifolds and I think you should just weld them on to the head, instead of making them bolt on. Heck they are less than 100mm long and the drama of making them bolt on does not seem to be worth it.

As each throttle body is individual there is nothing gained from having the bolted connection from manifold to head ... just a thought.

12 less possibilities for leaks too, but it may be complicating machiening of the heads later on.
I like the idea though. It'll also be a little less crowded in the V with the absence of flanges and bolts. Simplicty as always better.

This is so cool and I'm in total awe. Mark, this is so impressive, I can't even begin to tell you. I'm nervous about just trying to replace the starter on my Mondial myself! Besides the huge investment, and the incedible knowledge base you constantly show, you're perserverance is really impressive. There are so many ways to screw up. I hope this is all worth it in the end. It should be. Keep up the amazing work. All the best. Jay

I see how you guys are. When I said 2 pages ago no one was listening but when Pete says it....... ;)

The down side is that with the manifold as part of the head I will be pretty much married to the Duc TBs as any change would require reworking the heads. I think that's fine though because the TBs are going to be flow matched to the heads so changing them means putting the head back on the flowbench anyway.

I got some specs fron WebCam last night and a box of tubing from Burns Stailess yesterday afternoon so I've got lots to do after holiday stuff is over.

Glad to see they are tackling the job.

Now i have to go and keep a eye on the Turkey. Mom loves cooking things well done and dry for some reason.

Here are a couple graphs I threw together comparing cams.

The graphs for the stock cams I had to do a little guessing on but I'm sure they are very close and plenty good enough for comparison purposes. The new cams will be just a touch more aggressive than stock ;)

The ones labeled Steve's are cams that ran really well in a hot 2V 308. The ones labeled Web are the option Web is recommending for me....very similar to Steve's but more lift and a bit more exhaust duration because my exhaust port is not oversize and doesn't want a reduced duration exhaust cam to correct it. I has looking for more intake lift but it just does not appear to be practical with teh tiny ferrari base circles.....and I'm not going to raise the cams to allow a larger base circle so .450 lift it is.

The second graph is my intake and exhaust laid over each other to look at how they compare to each other. The exhaust has a tough more .050 duration but less above that…it’s a tad less aggressive than the intake grind

Here's a few pics of the oval adapters I'm thinking will be the exhaust tips.....a little small but not too bad as there seems to be a pretty even gap beteween the tip and the cover.

I got the second head cut and it came out good. I was off center a littel on the first one and some welding is in order to fix it......I need to be more careful. I'll fix #1 then go back to finishing the headers.
