Wow, what a run! Auburn is up 7-0. P.S. This is just the opening act for the only game that matters this weekend...Egg Bowl. HOTTY TODDY!
So, if a one loss AL beats previously undefeated FL in the SEC Championship, does AL get in the title game ahead of undefeated Cincy/TCU?
Nevermind...So, if a one loss FL beats previously undefeated AL in the SEC Championship, does FL get in the title game ahead of undefeated Cincy/TCU?
Like I said. Nothing before matters - it certainly didn't to a fired up Auburn team. Wow - what a game - I am exhausted. That last drive... Roll Tide. Now what's the name of that next game you were talking about?
You even ask that question??? We all know the answer to that. Not being in a BCS conference puts TCu at a 2 game deficit to begin the season. Florida, Alabama or Texas would have to lose two games and TCU go undefeated with large margins of victory before they would even be considered........... I will be in Frog Alley partaking of the free pancakes from Ole South Pancake House at 10am before the 12pm kickoff. At the Utah game I had given my tickets to my mother, brother and niece thinking I could grab an extra from someone......Wrong, sold out and scalpers were getting 10 times face value. Fortunately my son plays in the TCU band and I got to walk in as an honorary band member for the game. It seems that a full seven days before the game the scalpers were allowed to buy the remaining tickets and a lot of people who actually pay tuition to the school did not get tickets......The band director appointed about 30 honorary band members to march in with the band. The only hard part was keeping up with those kids as they did their usual march-in down Frog Alley, into the visitor side of the stadium, marching around to the home side, going under the stands and back around the opposite end zone from where entered, back under the visitor side and into the stands. Takes about 25 minutes to do the route and the band marches at 180 beats per minute while navigating through the crowd...........180 beats per minute means 3 steps per second. Almost a trot.........hard on an old guy like me............. My forecast.......TCU 61, New Mexico 10. Really sticking my neck out here.....we will see..
Off to the TCU/New Mexico game. Sold out again. Only the third time in recent history that this has happened..........Should be 12-0 after today. At least I say, should be. Frogs cannot take any team for granted. Coach Patterson says they will treat this game like a playoff game.........go for it..... Go Frogs......... Did someone just ask a question regarding a one loss UF team? Please tell me you're joking. What a worthless question. The Gators are not going to lose to FSU. You could have counted today's game as a win 5 years ago. kthxbai
lol @ Ole Miss. Having a great day so far as a Gator. Dan Mullen wins for MSU. Spurrier is kicking Clemson's ass. Now time to whip FSU!
... and the Heisman goes to? (votes have to be in by mid-week) My thoughts... Invited: McCoy (Texas) Tebow (Florida) Ingram (Alabama) Clausen (Notre Dame) Final Results: Winner - McCoy Runner-up - Tebow 2nd runner-up - Ingram 3rd runner-up - Clausen Significant vote-receiver - Dalton (TCU) Just randomness, that's all. Though, ND's record is arse (6-5 before tonight)- not sure how much that goes into Heisman voting. . . Also, last season's Heisman should've gone to McCoy & this season's Heisman to Tebow! < runs out before the fire-fight >
Colt is very deserving and I think he should get it. I love Tim's passion for the game, but he hasn't played spectacular this season compared to 2007. He's made more mistakes than I would have figured. Ingram won't get it because of the Auburn game + the Heisman voters in the southeast will split their ballots on him and Tebow. This website will start predicting the 2009 vote soon so it's fun to track this: http://stiffarmtrophy.com/ P.S. I hate ND.
Well I predicted a 61-10 TCU victory over New Mexico. I missed it. New Mexico scored their 10 points but TCU only scored 51.........Only a 41 point margin of victory to wrap up the Mountain West championship. TCU fumbled on the 21 while driving and missed a 40 yard field goal the next possession. Those two drives would have totaled 10 points but they did not get them so I missed. TCU did finish out the regular season 12-0, in the top 5 in both offense and defense and had an average margin of victory of 31 points. And Andy Dalton, the QB, tied the record set by Sammy Baugh back in 1938 for quarterbacking the most wins. And Andy is junior with all next year to add to his victory column and passing yardage record. TCU's daylight game record is now 27-1. With 14 wins in a row since last year..... Will they get the automatic bid to a BCS bowl??? Who knows. Are they a legitimate BCS buster? Absolutely......http://sports.espn.go.com/dallas/columns/story?columnist=durrett_richard&id=4696611
Are you asking if TCU will go to a BCS game??? That's a guarantee now based on their final ranking... Rose Bowl - Ohio State vs. Oregon Fiesta Bowl - Iowa vs. TCU Sugar Bowl - SEC #2 vs. Boise State Orange Bowl - Cincy vs. Georgia Tech BCS Championship - SEC #1 vs. Texas
Will there be TWO 2-loss Big-10 teams in the BCS? I can see the conference champion obviously in (tOSU), but not sure if Iowa gets a BCS nod. Then again, I don't see anyone else up there either to get a bid ahead of them unless the following happens: Cincy losing to PITT, meaning 10-2 Panthers will then get the Big East BCS invite & Bearcats finishing 11-1 perhaps getting an at-large BCS invite over Iowa OR Texas losing to Nebraska, meaning 10-3 Huskers will then get the Big-12 BCS invite & Longhorns finishing 12-1 perhaps getting an at-large BCS invite over Boise. If both outcomes happen, then likely Iowa AND Boise St. get bumped out...? TCU deserves a BCS bid w/o saying, and if Florida/Bama or Texas had 1-loss, then the Frogs deserve to be above the Gators/Tide or Longhorns in the BCS NCG (IMVHO). . .
I went to the FSU-Florida game. Another sellout. The game was great and the crowd was amazing, on Tebow's last drive the flashbulbs were going off constantly! After the game ended nearly 90,000 fans hung out in the stadium to say goodbye to Tebow and the rest of the Seniors. I've been going to Gators games since 1988 and I've never seen anything like it. Say what you will about Tebow, fact is he's a winner.
Osiris_x11, those situations can happen, but I was just going with the most likely scenario for BCS champions. The only reason I put Iowa in there was because of their BCS ranking (they will be top 10 now or something). I would have put in Penn State, but they lost to Iowa. Next weekend should be good! Fun fact: UF has sold out every game since Spurrier's first game as a coach. Although they haven't always had the seats filled of course. This game was the record for most in attendance with 90,907. Tennessee earlier this year was like 90,894. Then Miami last year with 90,833 if I recall correctly. I'm positive attendance includes everyone in the stadium including referees and players, lol.
