    Hi everyone,
I was moving my Ferrari archives and find this image. I don´t know anything about it, nor copyright, model, year, chassis number, driver, race....Ok, I confess: I'm completly lost!!!!
Can anyone help me finding somethjing about it (just for my personal registry, of course).
Best regards and many thanks to everybody

PS: The only thing I know, is Englebert tires were a very bad choice in the 50's.....

Looks like 0524M, the Barreto car, maybe Forez 1957. Its first heavy accident was at the 1955 Portuguese GP wearing racenumber 10, the "big" accident came at Forez with fatal injuries to Barreto.

Barreto had racenumber 58 at Forez, so no Forez.

I would be tempted to say it's a pontoon 250 TR Scaglietti spyder.

Check Fitzgerald & Merritt's book, page 59 ("Chinetti leaving factory in Tom Cole's ill fated 340 MM..."). I can see it.

Definitely doesn't look a pontoon TR, not to me.

Edit: is there a picture of Tom Cole's car after the crash, to compare?

Sorry but it's not the Tom Cole's Vignale spyder. Rather a Scaglietti spyder, don't know which one. I'm still thinking that could be a pontoon 250 TR spyder but could also be a 500 TR or TR/C.
Hope someone will find the s/n...

Tom Cole's car was n°16 at Le Mans 1953.

    - Race #25 on the door. (or variation of x25 or 25x)
    - Righthand drive
    - Looks Scaglietti in construction (not a pontoon TR fender -- fender would have crashed and folded differently)
    - Most 12-cylinder TR's have an outside hanging exhaust cannister setup (both sides) with a header outside the frame rail. (and then routed inward about the rear diff and out the back) Missing in this picture -- doubt if removed or torn off. Thus a 4-banger?

    OK :

    - not a 290 MM
    - not a Vignale
    - not a coupe or a berlinetta
    - not a 250 TR

I would add as we can't see a large vent on the side :

    - not a 500 TR neither 500 TR/C

That would let 750 Monza or 500 Mondial Scaglietti spiders.

    - NOT 0508M as it was burnt in the crash with Picard.
    - NOT 0576MD as it was cut in two parts in the crash with Sameiro

    Only european missing s/n I have :

    - 0512MD : Della Favera fatal accident at Parma-Poggio di Berceto hillclimb in 1955
    - 0516M : ex Luglio
    - 0524M : Borges Barreto fatal accident at 1957 6 Hours du Forez
    - 0548M : ex Daetwyler
    - 0550M : ex Pinzero ?
    - 0574MD : ??

    Which one ??

As the Borges Barreto's Scaglietti spider had a small air intake on the right side, can't be 0524M...

Do we know why Casimiro de Oliveira did not start at the 1955 Dakar GP with his Scaglietti spider (number 25) ??

Wasn't 0574 a monoposto F2? So it would be unlikely to be that car.
