And for fun here is an image by Lambojack featuring some of the slowest & fastest forms of transportation, getting acquainted in Italy. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I checked my original ATE Calipers. Rear are 74R Front are two different numbers 96R and 77R The only difference front/rear seems to be the thickness of the disc, but I didn't really measure every bit.
Thanks. I'd like to buy a bmw caliper, bolt it on to check fit, then measure the caliper for disc fitment. Plus, I would assume, that there are some nice aftermarket caliper for the BMW that may fit the Countach as well.....with a little machining I guess.
this is a Piaggio Ape 50 yes, it is a 50cc. VS the 5200 cc of the countach QV p.s. Valentino Rossi had one of these when he was 15 years old ...or so he got it to go to school in the winter...because of the cold Valentino Ape 50 was a "little" tuned and made 130 Km/h LOL
Chassis number 12022, the one-and-only "Viola" with "Rosso" Annivesario, special-ordered this way. I was standing on the ground in 1990 at Portman's service center when the truck pulled up from Italy to yield the last 3 Annivesarios to the UK: 2 red cars and this one. Needless to say I was speechless. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I can't see which was was left and right anymore, but have definitely two same for the rear and two different on the front, but from looking at them they are identical. I also remarked that a sort if sign had been grinded away, perhaps the BMW sign... BTW front and rear used Textar T260FF pads.
Let me tell you something, my car being a 1978 which were the "dark years", is probably one that this guy who was sent to the BMW dealer for calipers. I need to check and photograph my calipers for grindings. It is kind of humorous.
Just a little something to add to that. When you purchase a set, just snip off the brake sensor wire. I had to do that to the Countach and Urraco.
Thanks. I don't know why they tried to grind off the BMW sign. After all, BMW is a great brand and surely sporting a BMW component is not an embarrassment. Maybe there were some authorization issues to be concerned with.
I added some new Countach files including some covering the 'Motore Potenziato' LP400. http://www.joesackey.com/Galleria/
Joe, Are there any more pictures of this car that you can share or show me? Do you think it still wears this coat and still in the UK? Its pretty awesome and i wonder what kind of shine it had i.e. metallic etc. Also, a page back you showed a couple of pictures with a silver SE30 in the background, its beautiful, any more info on it as Ive never seen one in this colour.. Thanks Matthew
It shouldn't be a big deal at all. Those brake parts were used on quite a few European cars. Sourcing parts common to other makes are typical with low production models. I replaced a coolant reservoir on an Aston Martin Vantage Volante that had a "VW" logo in plain sight on top.
Matt: The silver Diablo SE30 is number 88. I don't have other pics but there are at least half-a-dozen silver SE30s. The Viola Annivesario is still in the UK, and I think the same owner still has it - I stand corrected if not. It is definitely a non-metallic paint, as I have inspected this car personally. Here it is coming down the line at Sant Agata in 1990, and entering the grounds at Silverstone race track. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Matt: another UK-based Annivesario also special ordered at the same time is Richard E's car which he special ordered in Arancio to match his LP400 in a first-and-last-of-a-series pair. Also a one-off livery for the variant. Image Unavailable, Please Login
If anyone can help, Im looking for this October 1975 Sport Auto magazine issue or the scanning of the contents therein. TIA. Image Unavailable, Please Login
