have you used LC? it apparently uses something like 30% of your clutch per use

mine has lasted a LONG time .. which is amazing given the way it's been driven ;)

I am experiencing some slippage now as well but they there is no need to change until it starts popping out of gear. If you are concerned IA can run a quick diagnostic (HSM cud do it within an hour) that will tell you approximately how much clutch is left.

Nope, never used LC, it's just been driven hard regularly or stuck in first gear in traffic jams alot. I'm just worried that it may die on me during the KL trip.

I dunno if the V12's are harder on their clutch than the V8's, but if you are concerned give IA a call & see if they can run a quick diagnostic for you. If you can I'm sure the other lot can ;)

I think IA is doing a free diagnostic for those signed up to go to KL. They will plug in the laptop and let you know the % of clutch wear in a jiffy.

derek, are u flushing out all the brake fluid or just topping up?what brake fliud are u using? dot 4 or 5.1. after some animated debate n advice on this forum,i changed all the fluid n used dot 4. seems to b fine tho a little squeaky. i was told that if previous fluid was dot5 (synthetic) then changing back to 4 or 5.1(glycol based) might actually damage the seals n even the caliper$$$$$. problem is that i dont know what was previously used on my car...

I'm actually getting new rotors & pads .. as for fluids I've got no idea I'll go with whatever the experts put in there.

I wanted to upgrade them but then it voids warranty so I decided against it

Mate, are you using the car on the track?

Have been checking with all the hardcore track junkies and the clear vote is for castrol SRF for its high boiling temp which is imperative for the track. But it needs to be changed regularly and does attack the seals if not changed regularly.

For squeak, its nothing to do with brake fluid but brake pads. Again, for proper track use, have changed to Pagid Yellows... they definitely held up compared to my standards and there was no brake fade (that in my limited experience) felt compared to when the Fongmaster sat with me the first time.

Have also heard massive rave reviews about the PFC-01 pads and have got my hands on a set. Will wait for the Pagids to wear out before giving these babies a shot though....

You also blame the brake fade on me..it could have been the offset in cornerweights that caused your brakes to fade..esp on the passenger side :)
