The plastic wind deflector piece between the 2 roll bars on this spider is making a TON of 'creaking' noise.

If shifting fast while accelerating it makes the noise, and it also bad when the wind hits it with the top down.

Anyone have this problem and have a fix for it? I tried removing the screws that appear to hold the plastic in the frame, but I still couldn't remove the shield...? It is very annoying and somewhat embarassing when a passenger is present.

I had the dealer remove mine the first week I owned it. It's the dumbest thing in the F430 in my opinion.

    +1

The glare coming off it can also be extremely distracting.

What are the bad points of removing the wind reflector?

I haven't found any bad points.

You can see out the back better through the mirror or over your shoulder, you don't get a sun reflecting into the mirror back from the plastic, there is no glare that wipes out your rear vision from the headlights behind you, your visual image is not distorted by warped plastic, and frankly it looks better without it.

As far as more wind turbulence entering the cockpit, I saw no difference that I could tell.

My dealer fitted some rubber plugs in the holes and it looks great.

Hmm might try this. Driving at night with wind deflector and top up makes vision through rearview mirror really rather blurry.
