I'm in Maranello and I just concluded the factory tour. After the tour of the F1 shop we went to Fiorano and I saw the 458 Challenge car doing lap after lap, beautiful and an amazing sound, wow!

Perhaps it will be ready for the 2010 season and Le Mans? It looks great!!!!

Formal announcement today for '10 CH season in the US is regular 430 CH only, then 458 CH and 430 CH together in '11 season. Presumably 458 only for '12 season.

Is the 430CH that good to keep it around for a few more years? Or is it purely to keep costs down?

The locations change every year. WGI for the first time in a number of years and I guess it coincides with the national FCA event?

    Hey Dan,
They also added Miller, and Montreal is a slim maybe. Are you considering doing any '10 dates? Watkins Glen should be very cool.

Interesting that they've acknowledged the 458C is going to be brutally fast by requiring a higher level license!

The rumor in Spain was 'Steel Brakes'. Hopefully true!

Watkins Glen should be awesome. 2011 is official for the 458.

Congratulations on the Championship Mark! See you next season.

Hey Mark, Never say never as they say! Still reviewing my plans for next year, this year got away from me after Daytona and I spent time doing a bunch of other stuff including my drive from coast to coast and Monterey week.

I think the higher level license thing is just about money, its another fee to ACCUS to get the international license. You have to have an FIA license to run in Grand-Am, I was able to get one simply by applying in Nov '08 for 2009 - I guess you probably had to have one to race in spain no?

Getting mine was a bit of a pain being a Brit since I had to get the FIA in the UK to state that I didn't have a current UK FIA license, but its easier for a US citizen. I have the paperwork on my desk to reapply for next year which I'm doing this week. The one definite event I have is Le Mans Classic in June next year - running in my TZ1 :)

    Cheers!

No pictures for this post, they took our cameras before entering the F1 division and Fiorano.

more mods needed, you forgot about biger wheel arches, they will probably be running the new 458 under Porsche/corvette rules 1245kg with wider tires and wider restrictors!

IIRC reading, that is for the 2010 season with the 430 body. It was labled unofficially "wide body".
