But having said that... the F458 will have a DSG equivalent. May not have that "kick" anymore.

what are the f1 cars using,f1 shift or dbl clutch?if the latter then i guess using that as the benchmark n in the name of progress ,by default u shld try to reach that level- after all f1 shift wld no longer be f1 shift

That's true. Ultra-silky shifts would make sports cars less exciting as they don't provide that jerk when you change gears. It would be good if they could put DSG in GT cars and keep F1 in more pure, hardcore enthusiasts' cars.

The Scuderia F1 shifts at 60ms... and F1 car shifts are 50ms. Pretty close already.

i spoke with nick at ital auto who test drove the 458 in maranello last week , he said the 458 shifts at 10ms! cannot feel any jerk at all but he said the car was still shiok to drive

What kind of comment is that? Of course sure it will be shiok to drive la! What could spoil the shiokness is the price! :(

5years from now we'll probably be talking abt f1shift as "old school" just like we talk abt stickshift heeltoe n dbl declutch today

    I'm with you on this!

Really feels like driving a F1 car!

No double clutch cars can come close to this sensation.
