That Testarossa was wrecked. Someone spotted the partially covered car with the license plate showing, even the roof was damage judging by the pics.

 

I hope nobody was hurt ................ regarding the TR, no big loss. A Countach owner.

 

Well they did make 7177 Testys and only 2000 Countachs.

 

My least favorite body BUT, as I've thought in the past, that color works 100% on that model.

 

Wow! That was going to be my question in the other sections. 7177 Testarossas. Hmmmm, I had always wondered why a 12cyl Ferrari was sooo cheap. 40-60k. I had thoughts of picking up one and holding onto it. But at that production number I really don't think it'll ever skyrocket in value.

 

this car is one of the best anniversary i had seen...may be the best combo for it!

if you want one as an "investment" just forget the testarossa
you should get a 512 TR or M (the first one is the best looking imo but the last is the real collectable)

 

I like the little changes done to the 512. The M just looks weird to me.
I still wonder how the Anniv cars ended up to be so high in production
numbers with the Countach.... don't they equal a third of total production,
made in just the last 2years of assembly?
(I will edit to add, that these are still Very small production numbers and don't take away from the 25th imo)

 

anniversary was built in big numbers because of the exotic market boom in late 80's

 

I read that max production was 3 per week, that would make for 312 in 2 years. How did they double production? Second shift, add a new line or ... ? Anyone know? Just curious.

if you decide to go for the 12 cyl. go for a carbed 512BB. High center of gravity due to the transmission/engine layout but is more "Ferrari" IMO. I drove both the BB and the BBi and the feel of the carbed verson was slightly more aggressive.

nice shot, one of the best colours for the aniversary IMO, unbelievable this colour is so rare..

 

Well, in 1988, everybody wanted red, black or white.

In my opinion, a special color on these cars deviating from the standard fare is very desirable.

 

Has anyone pulled the rear facia off an Anniversary and did the earlier Euro light treatment? Wonder what that would look like...

I have in fact seen that, and Im sorry to say that it looks terrible.

Part of the reason for that is the consideration of the fact that the original Countach design features a classic "Kamm" (chopped off) tail, and accordingly the removal of that contoured rear fascia causes the excessive protuberance of the rear bumper (which is integrated into the rear wheel arches and then into the sills and then into the front wheel arches and then the front spoiler!) to ruin any sense of uniformity. The contrast is just too jarring.

The other part is that the Annivesario is very much a 'package' design. It was the Countach's only serious face-lift attempt, and Horacio Pagani who did the job was given free rein to re-design the car and create a more flowing design than the spatted/spoiler'ed predecessors were. The result is something that looks like a purposeful & unified road weapon. The car's configuration looks like a solid piece rather than components added on. Any disruption or re-arrangement of Pagani's design becomes glaring, and in my opinion just doesn't work.
