Well yesterday I took the Fcar out for a ride to meet up with some friends for lunch. So low and behold after I stopped at the restaurant I got that faint smell of antifreeze. So popped the hood and saw this little stream of AF coming from the water hose under the dizzy . I could then see the bulge in the end. So I released the pressure and went in for a 2 hour lunch. I just added a gal of AF and drove the 15 miles home. Did the work today by adding a splice at the fitting. Also cleaned the nipple up using a 1/2 plumber's pipe cleaner. Worked great and cleaned up good. I just added a 3" splice so the old hose still looks good. I guess I'll need to change the hoses maybe next year but for now it is back up and running. I guess the point is , check your rear water hose it may be bulging.

At this point, you should change them all!

While you're at it, replacing all the fuel lines is also a very good idea.

I did the fuel lines last year so they are OK. As to the water hoses I'll hold out until the snow hits and then I'll take the car down for replacement. I hate to stop driving it while the weather is still pretty good. Hopefully this global warming will prevent us from getting any snow , lol. Oh I forgot they just found out that it is a hoax. As the weather gets a little crisp here (40* range ) them carbs love it. Gota drive it.

looks like the heater hose return line.
    what d'ya need that for?

do what i do. get a layup clause on your liability insurance.
then you'll be forced to leave her in the garage. no heater problems either.
