Some photos of the Hobby Design 599XX transkit in 1/24th scale. Overall its a nice transkit, but the front section is warped badly and the wheels are to flat. The price is as much as a full kit, so I think the entire body should have been remolded. It is overpriced for what you get(retail is around $130.00). Even Studio 27 would not have charged this much, and they are in Tokyo Japan not mainland China. The box was very small and had no popcorn to protect the parts. The resin body parts look very accurate and the kit has alot of nice photoetch. The rear diffuser looks like it will be very hard to build, with both resin and bent to shape photoetch used to build it up. This transkit should only be used by skilled modelers. In the right hands I think this will build up into a very nice replica without to much extra added detail. You will although have to add details to the cockpit. If you want a nice 59XX model in 1/24th scale, this is what you will need to make a nice one. If you don't want to deal with a complicated resin transkit, buy the Island Collectibles Ferrari 1/24th P3 1966 kit instead Tom Tanner/Scale Designs/Ferrari Expo-Strictly 43rd Revival model/photo contest-Chicago April 2010 Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Ouch! That does look bad! Sending it back or soaking it in hot water? This is very risky and I don't recommend it at ALL but I did once fix something like this by soaking the offending body casting in lacquer thinner for a long time. I think it was a week or two at least. The resin went soft but when the thinner evaporated out of it the body returned to normal - no damage, no surface distortion, nothing. I really don't think you should try it with this kit just mentioning it to add to the knowledge base.
The 599xx HB kit looks scary. Not making a full body was a mistake...especially if they can't ship the front clip without warpage. Hope mine is straight....but not holding my breath. Sigh.
I hope since it is attached to the plastic body I can straighten the front clip myself(both hot water and styrene reinforcements). The castings are clean, but the design of the kit is rather strange. To have to chop up that much of the body is a little over the top I think(unless you were going to open it all up anyway). That's as prototypic as it could be. Maybe they stopped development 1/2 way through the project too Actually, the kit probably faster than the 1:1. Looks pathetic next to the 312T.
Looks hurried to me too, there is another shot of the closest one to the camera where the rear wheels are way out.

Funny I don't remember a "GREMAN" grand prix on the calendar! That's right up there with the knock-off Schumacher Omega that commemorates his 7 wordl championships including the one still to be won in 20002.
Reissue for the Academy Ferrari 250LM 1/24th kit. It seems to mainly be available in eastern Europe and Russia. Not a perfect kit as the wheelbase is to short. Man...that kit has been around and around. The wheelbase was probably designed for slot chassis since it is basically a slot body/kit.
Box art is a Drogo nose with pentastars. They must think they're AMT- box art doesn't match contents Anyone have PE wires for Duesenbergs BTW? And is anyone doing a new body for them? I heard rumor, and Guido's stuff is gone. Sorry for tangent. L
