I am looking to buy a slightly used, low mileage 2008 612, looking for the right one but wanted some exterior color advice. Color choices have to be considered for resale down the road, so wondered what the forum felt about the best exterior colors in ranking.

I have choices of black/chocolate, silverstone/cuio, tour de france blue/beige, there may be others out there, so let me know if any private sales available.

Black seems to be on many of the cars for sale, is it a good choice as it seems that color is the most that are for sale. I do not want black interior.
I feel the red is not good on the car as it apears too big for my taste, and the 'champagne' seems to not show the lines well.

Any advice for colors for future resale is appreciated.

Any thoughts on the proper price of a low mileage 2008 car?

Silverstone looks great. I am of course partial to Bordeaux Pontiveccio but I believe mine is the only one in the US. Good luck with the purchase and enjoy the car. They are awesome.

As much as I love the car, it may be time for me to sell it. It is an 05 if you or anyone else are interested.

For the 612, I would avoid black and red as these colours, in my opinion, don't flatter the car's lines. My personal favourite is Celeste, the colour chosen by Ferrari UK for one if its press cars. These photos can be found on the BBC Top Gear website http://www.topgear.com/uk/ferrari/612. I bought this car as my daily driver and it looks good in all weathers, even when it's not been washed after a long trip in the rain. I had the car professionally waxed by http://www.project-karma.co.uk/ who use a product called Swissvax http://www.swissvax.co.uk/ and this enhances the depth and shine of the colour. http://www.project-karma.co.uk/612scag.html shows the results.

    Is that Bronzage's previous 612?

It is. Manssour and I are great friends and his new car is just about as beautiful as this one is! This was a car that we shared and he used when in the US.

Of those choices I would say Silverston/Cuoio would be my top choice, followed closely by TdF/Beige, Black being a distant third.
If you could find a Wine Red/Cuoio, that would be gorgeous.

Mine is TdF blue with cuoio interior, and I couldn't be happier with it. It's a personal decision, though.

Can anyone shed light on the values today on a low mileage 2008 car?

I take it black is not a highly sought after color like the dealer has advised me, but it seems there are many out there in black. I am leaning toward the sliverstone/cuoio but the black is a one to one car with glass roof and chocolate interior, but the black is not my first choice for me on exterior so trying to make a good decision.

Are there any pros or cons on the ceramic brakes on these cars?

Any thoughts on pricing would help, I've been out of the Ferrari market since owning two 512's and a 412 years ago. The new cars seem far better and can actually be driven with modern conveniences and comfort!

I think its more important to get the color and options you want. Go to Dupont Registry or E-bay to get a value. Ur right todays Ferraris are so good they are often dd's.

I miss my old 612, that color definitley brings out the lines of the car. I had that car for almost 2 years and never complained.

Silverstone is a great color TDF is a close second. Only others I would suggest are Rubino Met and Grigio Tit.

Good luck, one thing for sure...regardless of the color you are gonna love this car.

u must never seen the 612 brochure, the 612s in there are ALL Black!! it looks awesome and from what i saw last month, a black OTO, its very nice.
u actually cant go wrong with black, it just hides the curves more than lighter colors.

I have to admit, I thought seriously about Silverstone-- it is a great color.

I had a Rosso Rubino over Cuoio. It was a great color combo. The choices you stated are all beautiful on the 612. I agree with avoiding red. The car is too big for rosso corsa. The bourdeaux on this thread is nice.

    Good luck in your search.

    Ciao!
