The fight of the decade is on! The fight is scheduled for March 13th. Tickets are going to sell out quickly. Mayweather vs. De La Hoya tickets sold out in 3 hours.

I'm so ecstatic for this fight. I'd like to see Pacman win, whoever wins though it will absolutely be a great fight.

I hope to get tickets to this one. I think this could end up being one of the all time classics.
I would obviously prefer seeing this fight in Vegas. But, I am actually hoping the fight ends up in Texas stadium as there will be probably 70,000 to 100,000 seats and therefore, easier to obtain more affordable tickets. Not sure how much this venue holds but I know it is a lot more seats than MGM in Vegas.

Yeah $5,000 will get you a mediocre seat. Resale of course. All the real good seats won't even be available to the average attendee.

+1!! Would LOVE to see a huge fight!! Mainly because a lot of fans want to buy tickets, but they sell out so fast and are huge bucks. :D:D

A larger venue will make more money because of the numbers and tickets will hopefully be a little cheaper. Also makes for a huge atmosphere and who wouldnt love to go to an open air boxing match in a huge stadium thats packed out? :D:D

I agree with that. I tried getting ringside seats to the Green/Jones fight. They were all "pre-sold" before the tickets went onsale to the public. On the night, there were a lot of celebs ringside etc..etc..All the usual crap. :D:D

Was AU $1000 for platinum ringside seats. Was AU $600 for Gold ringside, AU $450 for Silver ringside and AU $250 for Bronze ringside for that fight. :):)

The rest of the normal tickets cost AU $125. :):)

Nearly packed out that arena, over 16,500 went they reckon. Is an 18,000 seat arena. :):)

Cowboys Stadium holds 80,000 seats and 30,000 standing room. Plus it has a lot of pricey suites/boxes which would certainly bring in the cash. Not to mention you could put seats on the field around the ring which would add several thousand. The cheap seats sell for $100 so imagine what a premier boxing match would bring in, 300?400?500 million?More?

Geez, that's a lot of coin. They are expecting over 2 million pay per views as well. This could end up being the highest grossing fight in history. There will be no problem promoting this fight.

Does anyone know the "revenue split"? IIRC, Mayweather's camp were adamant they wanted more than 50%, and Pacman's crew were adamant it was 50% or nothing....

I haven't heard what the compromise was?

It will be 50/50. Which I think is very fair. It is expected that both camps will get $50 million each. Not bad for a night's work.

Fantastic if it goes that way. :D:D

Absolutely! I reckon it will be the biggest grossing fight in history! :D:D

The Pacman is the pride of the Phillipines, I can only imagine how many of those guys will tune into the fight on PPV. :D:D

Unreal! WHY want more than 50%?? Is Mayweather scared of the Pacman, which is why he is demanding more than 50%?? I am assuming he wants the Pacman to decline the offer
cause he is affraid of him. :p:p

50/50 sounds good to me and the way EVERYTHING should be settled in the ring. :D:D

This crap reminds me of the Jones Jr/Hopkins talks in regards to the money side of things. :p:p

50/50 is the go!! $50 mill each is the go also!:eek:

    Im with you mate! :D:D

If they want to make serious money from this fight, find the BIGGEST stadium in the Philippines and have the fight there. :D:D

They go crazy for the Pacman over there and I am sure they will fill that stadium in a blink of an eye. :D:D

When I was on my honeymoon in Hawaii a few weeks ago, I watched the Pac-Cotto fight at a Sports Bar there somewhere. The bar was PACKED with people and around 75% of them looked to be Philippino. Brought their kids along to watch the fight too. :p:p

They went CRAZY everytime they showed the Pacman on the tv when he was out the back before the fight and the entire time he was in the ring. It was amazing and a great atmosphere! They all sang their national anthem when the girls on tv sang it before the fight. :D:D

Its the same story here in Mount Isa. When I go to the local pub for a beer and to watch a Pacman fight, there must be nearly every Philippino in Mount Isa there also to watch the fight. They LOVE that man and so they should, he is a great athlete and they should be very proud of him. :):)

Maybe I should promote this fight myself.:eek:

Mayweather's people weren't interested in having the fight in Dallas. Word is that Jerry Jones (owner of Cowboys and the stadium) is offering 25 mill for the fight and would put almost 10,000 seats on the field and lower the HUGE TV from 90 feet above the field to almost 25.

I'm not really seeing why they would not want it in Dallas. It's the newest and best stadium in the world and escalate the fight to the next level. Plenty of fights happen in Vegas but how many happen in front of 100,000 people. I want to see The Malice in Dallas.

As much as I despise the Cowboys and everything about them and their owner, *that* would be awesome - "The malice in Dallas" also has a great ring to it. :)

Maybe JJ will up his offer?

Anyone know where Mayweather's people want to do it?

I'm not a boxing promoter but I'm presuming by offering a site fee that Jones would keep the ticket revenues? If so, he could offer A LOT more and still make a sizable profit.

I personally feel like Vegas is part of boxing as a sport... and if this is going to be as historic as we're all expecting... then I'd say put it in Vegas.

Although, I understand the Dallas argument...

Jones is giving up ticket revenues and saying he just wants concessions and parking. Insiders are saying that he's willing to top whatever Vegas is offering by at least $5-10 mil. Golden Boy Promotions is in tight with MGM/Mirage, though. We'll see what happens.

I disagree. Vegas hosting the fight just means that real boxing fans won't get to see the fight. Celebrities and high-rollers, the kind who don't really care about boxing & only show up for the main event, will be the only ones who can get tickets. The cheap seats in this instance are going to be $5-700 and up, and even those are going to be impossible to get.

Cowboys Stadium has a capacity of 80k+ and they can EASILY sell that out. That means more real fans get to actually see the fight.

Oh, and as for the fight - Floyd is going to hit Pac with so many straight right hands it's (literally) going to make Pac's head spin. Pacquiao is gonna get schooled.

Are you or one of your family members a Vegas high-roller or internationally renowned celebrity? :)
