    I think its Fantastic you guys are doing this. Keeping the history.

    Eventually this historic challenge car series is going to take off and these cars are going to be respected for there historical presence.

    I think recreating the original sponsor decals is awesome.

    Surely you don't think the cars will be valued or respected in the future because they were raced in an amateur marque series?

    The challenge cars are great, but in a different class from the 333SP, 512BBLM, and even the 360 and 430GTs with real race history. 360GTs with race history have sold for not a lot of money.

    I think the newer Challenge cars, 360s and 430s, may hold their value somewhat in the near term because there now are many venues in which they can be enjoyed.

    We have plans to have a Challenge reunion at the 2011 meet, for now at the Hutchinson Island track, but there is much to be determined.

    As for the race cars, I love the 348c, the feel, just fast enough to have fun, small, nimble, direct steering and still has the manuel gear box.

    I noted last year #33 360GT was for sale, the FOW Grand Am car that won the first Sports Car title since the 333 (I htink I am right on this), that would be the race car I would have purchased. Asking price was around 199, but I think it sold for far less. Another fun car would be a Hufacker 308.

    Of course I don't think challenge cars will be worthy anywhere near cars raced in a pro series. I used the word "respected.". Right now FNA treats theM like disposable products. I think this will change. I think in time Ferrari will allow expand there series to include non current challenge cars at venues. And I think the preservation of these cars is interesting and will get more respect in the future.

    There's no doubt that these cars (360C and 430C, in particular) are fast and worthy of "respect". BUT, they ARE disposable. And, they often have severe damage. If repaired properly (expensive), they can be as good as the day they rolled off the line in Maranello. As far as respect goes, they're now eligible for a number of different venues, which is great to see. I just don't think you're going to EVER see them appreciate in value. Anything's possible, of course, but these are fundamentally converted street cars, and while there may be fewer of them floating around than, say, Porsche GT3s, they're not really a "limited production" car. That's not to take anything away from them. We sold off our 355C for not a lot of money. That's indicative of the desire and demand. Who's to know what MIGHT happen in 20 years, but for similar money (i.e. not THAT much), you can get a legitimate factory-built or Michelotto-built GT car that does have the potential to appreciate.
