Did some 308's come with body colored rocker panels from the factory, or are all of these re-paints? I always assumed black rocker panels were typical, but I see a lot of body colored ones as well.

Did you mean the rocker panels, on the body, below the doors?

Yes, I mean the body panel below the doors. Nice looking cam covers though.

The early carbed 308s came with body coloured panels below the doors. I think the QVs came with black ones as standard. Don't know about the i versions.

I believe I read somewhere that all 1984 308's had black body color below the doors.

I know that all 1983 GTS cars had black windshield pillars, so I'm not surprised by Ferrari painting black under the doors for a 1984 distinction.

I have an '83 and was wondering that also, as I am 99% sure mine have been repainted to Rosso. I had Gary Bobileff paint my rear wing and A-arms back to factory black as they should be, and if I found out all the rockers came in black, than back-to-black it shall be for those as well.

My 1979 GTS, which originally was Chiaro Oro, had semi flat black rocker panels from the factory.

If your looking to refinish I found (thanks to prev threads via search)

"Wurth Stone Guard Black" is the product to get ... Dead On match, at least for my 328.

Get the spray can version, and before you actually hit the area with a spray hit a scrap piece of cardboard just so you dont get a blob first shot out..
