Hey All - Been around the boards a while and on the prowl for a 355 for much of that time. After a few let-downs, I am happy to announce that I have finally purchased a fantastic 1995 355 GTS (Red/Tan). I hope to pick up the car tomorrow (Dec 11) and have pics posted up shortly thereafter. I'm sooooo stoked.
Congrats! I'll bet tonight is the toughest night you'll ever have to get through...good luck getting any sleep Post pics, once picked up.
Great!!! Congratulations! It's a great feeling. Your like an expectant father! Can't wait for the pictures.
Too true about the expectant father comparison. I've been a wreck...pacing around waiting for news about final stage of PPI, the smog test results, the funds clearing, etc etc. I think a lot of alcohol will get me through tonight and then I'll have her for the weekend!
Got my f 355GTB approximately 1 year ago. My X-mas gift to myself. I have to say it's been the best year of my life. I remember the night before I went to pick it up. I remember driving it home about 100 miles or so. I also remember not knowing how to open the gas door when I first tried to get gas. It was really embarrassing. The ***hole behind me gave me a lot of **** when I trying to figure it out. I had to call the mechanic I picked up the car from to figure out that the key needed to be in the #1 ignition position to open the gas door. You will find out fast that a lot of people will feel no sympathy for you during such embarrassing moments. Get used to it. When you drive an exotic, it's like being Angelina Jolie, everyone will notice everything that you do in it. All of these things will happen so fast, but driving the f355 home was truly one grand drive. Enjoy this time!
Rick congrats!! cannot wait to see pictures of it. enjoy it in the best of health and many great drives!
Congratulations. When I first started shopping for F355 about 10 years ago, I wanted a GTS model but they are so few of them then I ended up with a TB instead. Again congratulations and post us some pix.
Yep, that's the one. Car turned out to be extremely clean and only in need of a CV boot and a new heater valve plus some miscellaneous / discretionary stuff. Engine had a $25k meltdown 3 years (8k miles) ago and compression/leak down #s were excellent. Good luck with your search Jim.
Very cool. (especially the heater valve) I thought it needed a climate control computer from what he said. BTW, I like your head rests
Yes, red painted roof. Has a scuff or two up there but won't bother me a bit. BTW, thanks for all the well wishes. Really appreciate that. I've spent most of the evening watching F355 tribute videos (lots of Jeremy Clarkson stuff) on YouTube. Jesus, will tomorrow ever come? :O
Christmas is coming early.....enjoy!! Congrats!! Had my 355 for over 2 years now....still can't believe how much I love the car.
As you should be!!! Congrats! When my car arrived (a 360) and the transport truck opened the doors it was so amazing to think that this car was mine- I couldn't believe it. When I come home from work late at night and open the garage door to get into the house & see the car sitting there I often still can't believe it's mine... and it's been a couple of months now! Drive her in good health and happy holidays to you and all on F-chat! -Andrew
