Unfortunately(flame suit on) I'd have to say Florida,of which I am a resident. When you read post from California, they're constantly having weekly meets, drives, etc. It's always a mission to get people together here. Particularly in south Florida. When I had my 308 I'd drive all over the place. Usual exuses from people, too far, weather, not wanting to drive(put miles on) their Ferrari's. Yeah we have a monthly dinner, but even then people show up, it's in their everyday cars, what's the point. You have your odd events,Homestead, Cavallino and Moroso but generally discussions are related to real estate, vacation tips for visitors. You'd think with our weather people would get together often. A local burger joint here has two saturday get-togethers a month. Mostly muscle cars, but it's great fun,but no exotics.
I've been lurking here reading the tech threads, the UK section doesnt exactly seem the frendliest part of this site, just random threads about motorbikes n old fords with people moning about how its crap just my 2p Alie,
Check out MS, LA, AL (slow). GA seems to have a lot going on, a bit too far for me. I'm fortunate, My neighbor got me into this world and he is frequently up for a drive and we can pull a couple people out of the New Orleans area, but they are frequently unscheduled and a last second event so they are not advertised. I think our region is going to be on an upswing. We do have a toys for tots sort of thing occuring next weekend. There are a couple small groups that do things.
say, Europe is surprisingly slow, considering the size of the place and amount of F-cars here. There are very good threads, but it's very slow.
The problem of the Europe section is that there are other websites with huge forums in basically every country. FChat doesn't have the monopoly on talking about fast cars
hahhaha as i clicked this i wondered how many votes my hometown had and i was delighted to learn that the OP was representing South FL. I cannot speak for motorsports participation but i will say that in general we are home to an unusual amount of whiners and complainers--its strange. the sense of entitlement we have down here can be staggering at times. one of my all time favorite discusssions about SFL laziness is with regards to how crappy of a sports town we are compared to the rest of the country, for which there many reasons. anyways, the discussion goes something like this: 1: you wanna go to the marlins/panthers/heat game? 2: is it playoffs yet? 1: no. 2: meh not really. 1: why not, we never go, we always pass up tickets 2: ah, theres just too much to do down here. 1: yeah, i guess your right. yep south florida home of "theres too much to do down here". couldnt go to the game bc we were windsurfing around biscayne bay instead. its funny, tragic, and im quite honestly numb to it.
The funny thing is, alot of people here in Miami are from N.Y.C., where there was alot to do,especially in sports. Yet no one goes to games here. They buy gorgeous cars to go around the corner in the Grove and that's it. Boring.
Not much action in the Middle East section... Which is just the opposite from if you're watching CNN.... Mike in Kuwait
My home area, North Midwest-USA, seems mostly populated by kids with an obsession for random car spotting (rarely even a picture), dreaming about what car they wish their dad would buy and little else. I do what I can but it's hard to compete with a stranger's Bentley in a mall parking lot.
The Canada section. Second largest country in the world with Ferraris from coast to coast and it is considered one region? If I am in Vancouver and see a interesting post title about some upcoming event, I am invariably disappointed to find that it is taking place 3,500 miles away.
When I see an interesting post title about some upcoming event in the Middle East, it is inevitably in a different country...! Mike in Kuwait
I think it was the UK members' proposal a few years ago to create a special tax on posting threads that slowed down growth there. They noticed new members were not getting enough benefits and perquisites and so they were trying to create a plan to reallocate web space to the people who didn't have posts or Ferraris. Then the government was trying to access Fchat IP addresses to know where to place more speed cameras near Ferrari owner homes. Lastly, the weather was bad.
Hello Sindo. For the past few weeks I have been thinking the same thing! The FL section is lame IMO. I am also a resident of FL so I can say this. There is NOT much value here as far as I am concerned. I enjoy reading all of the other sections. Blah, blah, blah in FL.
The villain in The World is Not Enough (Bond film) had a nice row of cars. Except I think they all blew up (?)
