This is a diagram/photo of the Air Injection system on a US Spec 308 QV. The Cut Off valve shown in the photo, is in-line between the air filter box, and the elbow hose that connects to the "Tee" that splits the air piping to the check valves that run into the exhaust manifolds. Not sure operationally if anything would have been wrong with the car if this valve was in backwards, but without a doubt, when I removed this valve from the car, to change the hoses, the arrow pointed TOWARDS the air filter box. This doesn't make sense to me. If the air filter box brings air into the system, then the air flow should be heading through this valve and into the "Tee". Therefore the arrow on the valve should point into the "Tee". Correct? Can anyone take a look at their car to verify. Thanks, Phil Image Unavailable, Please Login
Sorry Phil, but my system has almost been completely surgically removed from the car for lack of use and weight removal. Anyone else? MB
I'm still pursuing this and am waiting for a call back from a local dealer service department. If/when I find out I'll post here. Phil
Phil, I just confirmed it with my QV. It's hard for me to take pic and show it to you but I've used a mirror and saw an arrow on the side of the valve and it's pointing towards the TEE, away from the engine, and toward the left side of the car. Does this help?
Mike, thanks. It certainly confirms my suspicion/theory, that mine was installed backwards. Goes hand-in-hand with the four cam journals I found installed backwards during a recent service...so much for trusted dealer service. Phil
