I have a question regarding chargers.
I just stored my 456M for the winter. I found what looks like a trickle charger in the trunk of the car. It is an original ferari battery charger but was still wrapped in plastic.
I have doubts as to whether this is a trickle charger because as I installed it i noticed it does not plug in to the battery with standard clips on the poles of the battery. It plugs into a plug on the opposite side of the battery. Also, the lights did not go on. I was told this is normal because the battery is fully charged and the lights will go on only if and when it needs a charge.
Can anyone tell me if I have installed the right charger in the proper manner.

    Any help is appreciated.

I don't know what country you are in, but in the US there is a company named Deltran that makes a product called the Battery Tender jr. (or waterproof model). I highly recommend their product and as it's only about $25 on Amazon it's a cheap investment on new technology that keeps the battery conditioned.

    Wade,
That is unlikely what he has, as that version came out after the 456M was launched, unless it was purchased later. There are several different chargers that were offerred by Ferrari, and dealers provided several aftermarket options as well. Without a photo, it is all just a guess what he has.

The light should come on. It's green when it's charged and orange when it is charging. If it's plugged in but not connected to the battery, no lights will come on. I've never seen it not start orange.
