If there's an engine running on this ECU, using all the parameters needed for your project, that is a BIG step forward. To me that would represent the one huge component that I know very little about, wouldn't know where to start to make it suit my specific needs.

So we're nearing the stage that you may receive a plug, tune and play box in the post in the near future, wow.

Now don't do a NASA and get the wrong connector for it....

We're not at the box coming in the post stage yet....well actually I already have main circuit board so what I'm actually waiting for is an email with a software file attached. The software is where most of the work is and most of that work in in the basic code structure. The code in now working, the ecu is reading crank position and load and using that info to drive injectors and coils and the ecu is linking with a laptop to allow adjustment. I would say it's at about 60%-70% of done as in ready to go for a drive done, but if my engine was ready I could hook this think up and it would run so it's a big deal. Another team working on what is a simpler processor platform who had an 18month head start is not to this point yet...because they don't have Karl who is THE MAN when it come to ecu stuff.

I found the mother load of flow data....even has a lot of ferrari stuff

    http://users.erols.com/srweiss/tablehdc.htm

Honda heads that have similar bore/stroke/valves as me tend to use about ....82% just like the software says they should. I guess I'll trust the software.

Well, today was the day I told Lana about the cams and it went surprisingly well.....although she did say something about an entertainment center and TV to fit as she was leaving the house a few minutes ago.......

I exchanged the argon and acetene tanks this morning so I'm ready to get back to welding. I want to get the 2 into 1 collector on the front headers and I still need to weld one of the 3 into 1s onto a rear header.....then on to the holes i installed in the heads! I'll leave the rest of the exhaust for now both because I'm tired or working on it and I don't want to try up any more money with cams, valve, springs, pistons, ect all needing to be bought soon and I'd way rather have an assembled engine than mufflers.

Do you have a link to some hardware description?
There was some openecu link some time ago but could not find it, and not sure if its the right one..

Btw. what an amazing project you are doing!

Here is a link to what I know for the moment. Karl, the lead programmer said leave him alone until Christmas....very very busy sorting this out and he'd rather program than answer emails or phone calls....he's and ecu building machine!

    http://forum.openecu.info/forums/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=50

It looks like the plan is for Karl to refine this core operating system programming over the next few weeks into something he's happy with and then we can get on with the actual 5554 based hardware and start adding all the additional features to the core code that is running now. Hopefully by spring we'll be ready to plug one of these onto Luckydynes 308 and give it a go.

Then I'd never get any work done in the shop. I've been trying to convince her it belongs in the bedroom but no sale so far.

I got the last 3 into 1 welded on tonight. Almost head time.....

OK, so its a bit premature to look at schematics and the code.
For starters I just downloaded the 5554 reference manual, have been away from the embedded world a few years, although I do software for a living.
I will keep watching for more news :)

If you do software for a living and know anything at all about embedded programming then you are my new best friend :)

    PM sent.

And I worked the heads up on the pistons, valve, spring, bearing ect into the talk and showed her the boat plans because that is a project Victor could help with once the car is done.....the key being I was talking about being on the final count down and the car being done ;)

There haven't been any pics for a while so here you go, 4 complete headers. Tonigh I finished the last of the welding on them. Tomorrow I'll hit the last 2 into 1 collector.
