Great Glad it is not on the car! What do we know about replica wings? Were there many companies that made them? Obviously they were made specifically for the Countachs because of the width the deck. This wing has been on the car since the 80's. Joe, I seem to remember that you told me the car left the factory with a wing. Or am I mistaken?
Paul: 10% might be a bit high, and my guess was more like 5%. Yes you have had some Countachs leave the UK in recent years and I have had the pleasure of assisting that process. But it all balances out in the end.
Mistaken, because I have no record of this car having leaving the works with a wing (such as I have with some others) and I rather think this was added later as its replica status suggests.
For the mechanical experts! My starter has decided it no longer wants to cooperate with the rest of the car and needs to be replaced. Is it possible to remove the starter with the engine in situ, or is an engine out required? The car is a 1987 FI QV. Thanks.
You and I are in the same boat. This is one job I am leaving to the pros! Seems to be done with motor in place. Exhaust and manifolds get removed. Seems like a *****.
Thanks for that Joe I understood that there was about 180 ish CT's back in the early 90's and some are suggesting is only about 50ish left now in the UK!! How many have you personally facilitated being expatriated from the UK? Glad is only about 5% in your view! Too nice to have too many dead ones! Hope things good with you Paul
Turbo S? http://cgi.ebay.de/Lamborghini-Countach-Turbo-S-Prospektmappe_W0QQitemZ290379431871QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAutomobilia_DE?hash=item439bf67fbf
It's almost a wash with all that has to come off. I consulted George Evans on this and he pulls the engine. He did tell me it could be done but he pulls the engine as do I. Tony
For the students who care about such trivia, has anyone noticed if any of the Wolf Countachs had the Heuer Monte Carlo Rally Clocks fitted? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Martin: I have searched but cannot find the link, but instead here are some more shots of the car in front of my house when he came by to visit with us. This is his first and only Countach, and he was in a quandary as to what to buy. He passed on a red/black LP400S S1, and a red/tan LP400S S1. When he came across this car, he asked my opinion, and I encouraged him to proceed and buy the car. As soon as he got it he brought it by to show it to me, and thats when I took the pics. Thanks Sackey I appreciate it there's something about Bianco Countach which never fails to grab me . P.S. and your own Miura is another story
Here is another of JC's car. 2.5 years ago when we started talking he wasn't even sure it was a Countach that he wanted. But he sure made the right choice! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes, LP500s #ELA12712 BiTurbo by Albrex, proven 748hp (dynosheet in that brochure). Was originally owned by Max Bobnar in Switzerland (famous dealer), had her converted to BiTurbo, sold it together with 2 Miura SV to Sweden, car was for sale in 2007 in Danmark where it was bought by a friend of mine and had the engine overhouled. On the CD is a promotion video with Reventon #20 which is in Switzerland at Lamborghini St.Gallen. The Biturbo is in Germany since 2007 near lake constance.
Is it totally out of order or just the solenoid which got weak, sometimes you can knock on the starter and it will work again.
As far as mine is concerned, I pulled the rear wheel and got in there with a nice long steel bar, banged it a bunch. Nothing. PLUS even if it did free up, it will still need to be removed and repaired.
Didi? he still owns the Biturbo. The Reventon was always owned by the owner of Lambo St.Gallen as far as I know.
