its an audi.......................wtf has come over you roberta, have a bex and lie down or I will come to Smelb and throw a chair on your head
Didn't know that! Thought it was an Audi engine and Porker n rust just don't seem right thats more like Ferrari territory.
Happy to be corrected - the 924 wasn't built in the porker-werke, but in some satellite VW plant, maybe the old NSU factory. Some of the 924s I've seen in the UK make the finest Italian steel look good. The engine was some generic, derived from the K70 or Audi 80 of the late '60s or early '70s and featured in the VW Kombi replacement. I'm sure that some porker anorak will set me straight. I've driven a number of 924s and apart from the tartan tablecloth seats, the engine was the weakest part and, um, a bit of a lump. However, that said, the 924 was developed into some of the best porkers ever;(again, IMO), the 968CS and the last of the 928s. IMO, the last 928s were the closest they ever got to a Ferrari tourer, they were really good, and far better made - pity they were ugly. One other thing, the crappiest 924 still has a better (rear gearbox) gearchange than an Alfetta or a 275/Daytona/456 etc...
Dunno it Rob, same as a 924 turbo, more development maybe? Was the Martini edition anything special or only stripes? C'mon do tell...
