Is this an original 246 Dino steering wheel? Does anyone know what year it would be suitable for? It's made by Momo, the rear says "Made in Italy" and "M 20340". No it's very late 246, approx. #07650 onwards and early 308 GT4, but not 308 GTB which is a little different.
I'm going out to the garage now, to look at the back of mine, the front stamping and rim treatment appears identical...LOL! I have early 1976,1977 308s.......

My Dino wheel from my 72 246 (bought it in 73)is currently hanging in my office. Markings , your picture is identical. Incidently Dino wheels tended to fracture at the 9 o,clock and 3 o'clock postions. Docf
I'm sorry but a must have had a senior moment. The 72 wheel I spoke of above has no # CODE, nor does it have solid alum. spokes. Docf
The 308 wheels have a wider diameter outer ring (wheel) due to the weakness of the original wheels. It is hard to say for certain as the photo doesn't give an indication about the diameter, the angle makes it hard to see. The transition in "holes in the spokes" to "no holes in the spokes" has been discussed before and there is a blend of both styles being applied over a range of serial numbers. My 74 GTS (07714) has it's original steering wheel and it has the "holes in the spokes".
As I mentioned, My 74 GTS (07714) has the original wheel "with holes" - it doesn't have the MOMO logo. The photo depicts two original wheels. The "with holes" wheel was removed from 72 GTS (04274). The "without holes" wheel was removed from 74 GTS (08468). Both have MOMO scripts. It is not that noticible in the photo, but both of these have substantial leather wear/deteriation which is why i pulled them off and am currently using modern reproduction wheels. (07714) has a worn wear, but is still nice enough to look decent even though it is patina'd. Not certain as to why some do and don't have MOMO on them, but all of these wheels have the stitching, glued spoke transition and the leather seam on the wheel about 1/2" to the left of the bottom spoke. So, will this one be okay, for my cars??? It certainly is hard to find a nice one, and the diameter of the wheel is not big issue, hard to even see it in the pohotos posted.... I have a delicate touch..
Big Tex: Are you looking for an orginal 246GT Wheel as I may need to part with mine. Need to part with a few Dino parts as will be moving Fl next 6 mo. If interested will post picture later. Docf
thanks for all the info, it's just lying around at home, I have no use for it! I can post more pictures if needed.

Studying the pictures carefully, I see ya'll are right! There are some very subtle differences in the two wheels... Docf, Thanks for posting that up! I'm sure there are some Dino owners needing these wheels, I am always on the lookout for a wheel for my 308GTBs.... Like this.... Image Unavailable, Please Login
