    This watch is very nice...

I wonder how long the gold plating would last.

I also wonder if it comes without the magnifying bubble on the glass - or if it can be removed in the same manner as with a real Rolex.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

I look forward to hearing your opinion of it, Pap. I put off getting one because I read stories that sounded similar to what intouch said, but nearly all of the stories were from people who didn't own one, they just saw one that a friend had, so it'll be nice to hear your opinion of it...especially after a few weeks of ownership.

Intouch, I love your watch.....one of these days....:)

I wear a Panerai homage. It's custom from case to dial to hands to strap. There's 0 branding on the dial or case, and I do not represent it as a real PAM. I bought it because I am absolutely in love with the Luminor case, but I'm unsure if I want to drop that kind of money on a watch. I'm glad I went the homage route because after a few days with the homage, I've decided this style of watch isn't for me. I'd rather make a $200 mistake than a $5,000 mistake.

I'm sorry, but in my opinion, that has to be the ugliest, most gaudy watch I have ever seen. To each their own, but come on.....do you have to have an Escalade to have one of those? :)

I know the quality of "replicas" can vary, but I would stay away from the ones with "gold" in them. Someone gave my brother one of these and he gave it to me. The "gold" has worn off in parts and it looks ridiculous. Stick with the SS models because they just use aluminum or some cheap metal that won't wear off. I can take pics if you are really curious.

On one of the sites I was looking at, don't remember which one, they actually had solid gold for the links and case on some of the reps. For the prices they were listed, though, you could get a real one on ebay....On the other ones, I'd be afraid they'd turn my wrist green

Sorry for the long delay, I haven't checked this site due too too much going on lately. The reps are of really good quality, some better than others. You check the authentic ones, print colored photos of them, then do the same with the reps. Some are almost spot on and some are not. All of them, though might have some slight differences, you get the same "feel" for the watch (has the same look/feel). These are not the $30 knockoffs people come think of when reps are spoke of. I just got my Graham Chronofighter yesterday, and it is very nice! I've been collecting them since 2006 and only 1 died on me after 2 yrs. For the money/value, they can't be beat. Though I know my real swiss timepieces will last a lifetime(most likely), the value of the reps that (might last a lifetime too) can't be overlooked.

www.replica-watch.info is the forum site for replicas to learn more (aka, Ferrari chat for watches)

At the least, reps gets people into mechanical watches more and you really get an appreciation for them more and more and that can lead to buying authentic watches to include in your collections in the long run (as it has for me). Let us know when and what you think of them once they arrive. China is backed up this time of year so it might take about 2 weeks for them to arrive since exports are flying out of that country now like you can imagine!

I have an Omega Seamaster Pro Chrono. Wife bought it for me last Valentine's day and I love it. Anyway I checked out this site (#11839 is the model like mine) It has quite a few obvious visual differences. I'm really curious how the watch performs.

    Hey Mickey.

When you get your watch in send me a PM and let me know how it works. The left chrono on my watch is continually sweeping, it's the second hand. The button on the upper right starts and stops the large sweeping second hand while the other two chronos (12 and 3 position) move as the second hand hits the 12 O'clock.

If it looks kinda like an Omega and performs like one. I'll pick a couple replicas up to have as beaters.

You're right, that's not one of the better reps that I have seen either. Sometimes different companies will all make different reps of one watch, so there may be some that look better. As far as the mechanics are concerned, they vary even more. Some have working chronos, some don't, some are made fairly nicely, and some, not-so-much.

    Love your Omega, BTW :)
