Eugenio picked up his 348 spider today in the UK and left for Italy. He just arrived at my place in Belgium for the first stop. The 500 km drive took him more than 12 hrs. Here are some pictures why......

Tomorrow the trip continues to Italy (another 1100 km) if the weather permits.

Awesome! I love seeing it in the snow. :D

Good to know this car is not going to be a garage queen and will be enjoyed.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

That sure looks like some cold weather. I don't know if I should call him brave or crazy for driving in those conditions.

Wowza UK to Italy that a nice drive but the conditions aren't so great. Best I ever did was Geneva to Amsterdam in 10 hours. Now the 348 could cut that down to about 7-8.

The poor guy had no choice. This trip was planned two months ago. He flew yesterday directly from Delhi, India to the UK to collect his car. Nobody expected this weather.
It was bad luck, but I am happy that he made it to my place.

This morning the weather is clear and -11 Celsius (12 F). He just left for the second part of his trip. Have a safe trip Eugenio.

    Hi Ton,

    Poor Eugenio,

That was bad luck picking this weekend to collect his 348. Typical for the UK, although we have known for over a week that this bad weather was coming the roads still come to standstill after a few inches of snow!!

B*^$£*y road authorities could not run a P---S up in a brewery, glad I was not working on Friday!!

At least it proves he has bought a good car, with a drive over to you he will not forget in a hurry. I would think a few hot coffee`s were more needed than a beer when he arrived at your place?

    Great pics as well.

    Regards,

    Phil.

Just getting acclimatised for going over the alps! What pass do you fancy? Really need a ski rack on the back whilst your there!

by way - you were lucky, channel tunnel now not running and boats heavily delayed, you got over just in time.

I'm sorry, but that's rather naive. End of December in Europe, driving 1,500 kms including over the Alps, and you're not expecting salt on the roads or snow/ice/rain???

Although I'm all for driving instead of transporting, I am very hesitant to drive the Ferraris once the road is salted. The stuff gets everywhere, and contrary to what people believe, you cannot wash it off easily. It stays in nooks and crannies for a long time, corroding every time it gets a little moist.

But I hope it all comes good and that this car will be enjoyed for a long time.

    Hi,

I was told on Thursday 10th December that this weather front was coming our way!!

But as said earlier Eugenio had booked his trip before this.

    Regards,
    Phil.

This is sooooo like December 2006 :) : http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=131731 but so much more hard core.

Pampered, manicured and valeted F-Car travels across Europe to new owner.

Eugenio - when you read this - I was drinking your health and safe arrival with some of Fattoria Poggio Alloro's finest tonight so I know you'll arrive home safe.

Is the 348 in good hands? You bet it is!
