What does the embossed number on the side of the head rest mean? Will it hurt the valvue of my car if i change the interior colour from Magnolia to Tan? How much should it cost?

I am interested in changing from tan to black. I haven't checked into price but i am guessing with carpet, seat covers and having the dash, console, door panels and all other pieces recovered would have to be around 10k. Then there is finding someone to do the work and make sure all the hides match.

I like tan interior....just not a fan of the brown dash and console. I have seen TR's with tan interior with black dash, console and carpet. I love that look but since my car has had a bad dye job i rather just recover it all with black.

I was quoted 6K just for the seats including the original ferrari blk leather.

John, i would keeo the interior color original...if you had to change it, do the original color...less BS to explain after if you sell it in 3 yrs.

    Big Red,

Wow 6K for just the seats.... That is more expensive than I thought. I just went to the italian car parts website and they have seat covers with the backs, head rests with the embossed logo and its $3,680 not including tax and shipping. They offer door panels which i believe are $1,600 and a "dash cover" for $1,200. Not sure what a $1,200 dash cover is....perhaps its the leather ready to install for the dash.....lets hope at this price. They also have the wilton carpet in black which from what I understand is very hard to come by these days.

Mike, my price quoted did include the quote of taxes, and labor..it wasnt a kit. It was the COMPLETE seat...bolsters, head rest.

I love guys like SonomaRik that throw on a link for $2,300 and then walk away...you will notice on the link he posted it DOES NOT mention the head rest piece of leather either for the $2,300, or the 2 bolters on either side...or the bottom seat throw out attached to the bottom seat. :D

You have to really look at what type of leather you are getting. Im finding there is alot of stuff that is similar...but when you look at the cow piece...its CRAP....hence the price. Shop arround, but im finding 5-6K is the number for a COMPLETE set of TR seats redone to as NEW condition.

    Cheers !

    ooooh :D

I am not a full service guy here, it was hopefully a chance to explore on your own. Gahh has what it is. I do know of one individual who used their products, and I must say, turned out very good. However, do know of a local gal who had her TR done with a local gal.[using her for ref. got me some leather work locally after I say her job]. That would have been my recomendation over gahh, but, alas it is here in CA....so can't say to use them if not local.

anyway, got your :D 's and just trying, ta' help

I am def. not here to steer away better/other areas....choices: stuff that can make dreams happen....for some.

I asked for a rough number from AI to recover my 355 seats with a Daytona-style insert and they told me about $3k/seat so I think that $6k for both is right in the ballpark.

Just buy these if you are looking for 355 Daytona style seats..... no affiliation, and sorry to steal John P's thread, but carbon Daytona seats for $5000. Go for it.

I like my Tan seats...but would love to change the dash and door panels and any other brown leather parts to alcantara or something similar. I wonder what the cost of something like that would be.
