I just spoke with Pat Santangelo (formerly of the FHP) and he asked me to once again reach out to the Fchat group to see if we could get some cars to come down to the Notre Dame d'Haiti Church to support his annual Christmas event there this Sunday at 1:30 pm. Pat has retired from the FHP but is still supporting this event through whatever means he can. Basically he is not asking for toys, just for some of us to bring cars down. The kids LOVE the cars as much as anything else that goes on during the event as a few people on here know from the last couple of years. It really is a lot of fun seeing how excited they get when they see the cars! Last year we allowed the kids to sit in the cars in addition to just looking at them. I know not everyone is comfortable with that and Pat said we can have an area roped off for those that wish to only display their cars and not allow the kids to sit in them. Just like the Toy Rally, this will be the 4th year supporting this event.

I'd really appreciate anyone willing to help out.

The church is 2 blocks from I-95, address is 130 NE 62nd terrace, Miami FL.

I was thinking we could meet for lunch around noon (open to suggestions on where, depending on who's coming and where they are coming from) and caravan from the lunch spot to the church.

Also, there will not be a police escort this year so if lunch is too far away we can stop at the Park and Ride at the Golden Glades Interchange and regroup there before going in. Hope some of you can make it out.

Guys, this is a really nice event for these kids, alot that come from rough neighborhoods.
I borrowed my friends car last year, don't have one this year to take. I know some were turned off to the kids getting into the cars, but looks like they're addressing this.

Andy, You read my mind! I was going to PM you to get Pat's contact info. I don't think I can do the whole thing but at some point (maybe lunch) I'd like to hook up and get you some toys for the event. PM or call me.

Sindo! Come by and hang out anyway! Still working on a lunch plan of some sort. Thinking we need to be seated and order by 12 so we can make it by 1:30 but open to suggestions about where/what type of food.

Hope you got some rest Bill!!!

The event was a lot of fun as always! The kids absolutely love the cars and the organizers are always very appreciative of our efforts. I actually had an issue with my car and had to leave it at the lunch stop but Gabbie, Sophia and I went down in our G35 coupe.

Thank you Peter/Sandi and Oscar for making the trip down there with us, Bill Brennan for the toys and Tom McDermott for lunch! Despite my issue with my car it was a great day.

Pat Santangelo called me when we were on our way home and thanked us for bringing the cars again. He told me the event is always the Sunday before Christmas so we'll plan ahead a bit more for next year.

Sorry we couldn't make it this year. Too much going on and not enough time. I wound up missing one night's sleep over the weekend. I feel like burnt toast.
Is your 360 okay? Nothing serious I hope.
Glad the kids enjoyed the cars. We'll have to make it next year.
