    My 2004 360 F1 has been in storage for the past 6 months while I have been recovering from a motorcycle accident I had during the summer. I had my mechanic come by and check it out before I started driving it again and he said everything looked great (except for a dead battery - factory charger failed while in storage). I took it for a first drive with him and it ran perfectly.

    Today I took it out for its first real drive. I drove it about 40 miles with absolutely no trouble. Then, while going about 45-50 mph in 4th gear I hear 3 beeps and the CEL comes on. I thought I saw one of the lights on the left hand side (Brake/ABS/F1) flash slightly but it did not stay on or continue to flash. I pulled the car over and shut it down. It restarted fine but the CEL stayed on. I then put it in first gear and started to make a slow u-turn. The car suddenly stalled. I started it up again and drove it to a point where I needed to slow down to make a right turn. It died again. It happened a third time when I stopped at a light.

    I was able to get the car home from there no problem. I let it run in my garage for several minutes in first gear and it did not stall. All of the guages are normal - e.g., no overheating, etc.

    Has anyone experienced this problem or have any information? Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks!

    There was less than 1/4 tank of old gas in the car. I filled it up the rest of the way with new gas on the first drive.

    But the old gas had sat for 6 months in the car...

    I would put a bottle of good fuel injection cleaner in the tank & drive it, I would bet you just getting the results of some old gas. With a fresh tank & some miles I would bet it will go away..

    B- CEL comes on, car starts stalling. Personally, I would have someone look at it unless the CEL has cleared itself. You can always do the self reset on the ECUs and see if that helps. Will not harm anything, but you will need to reinsert your radio code if you have a Becker.

    Something similar happened to me. After only one month of storage.That lights comes up. I read the manual and did three things;
    1. Check the F1 oil level, it need to be filled.
    2. Clean the mass flow sensors. (Here is an excellent thread about how to clean that). The manual says that if something is wrong with the sensor or the throter the car will go on safe mode
    3. I drain my gas tank and put some new gas on it.

    I did all the steps at the same time so I really don't know what was the exact solution. I hope this help.

    Good Luck my friend!

    Yes it was a leak. I post a thread about how I fix it.
