Are there any technical updates that make it perform any better? Why is it 120k-worth of desirable?

Those headlights and flattened bonnet look very unusual on the 911. It looks like a kit car that hasn't quite got the front end right.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

Common guys. It's a rare car and there are a lot of slant nose / flat nose fans out there. I remember seeing these cars brand new in the showroom. I recall the scoop in the rear quarter panel being especially noteworthy as well as the rest of the makeover. It lead to me buying a 1991 C2T and really being very proud of it (even at a mild 315 HP rating).

Like it or not - Its a monumental Porsche and a great piece of 90's history.

Actually, there are a lot of nice touches on it... but I'd rather have different front fenders and traditional 911 headlights. I appreciate the car might be an icon (I don't know enough about it), but you'd have to be a real Porsche aficionado to appreciate it.

Really great-looking 993's can be had for under 30k... which seems to be about 90k less than this car. For the cost, doesn't seem to be worth it really - at least not to me.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

I think the 964 Turbo, esp in 3.6 guise or Leichtbau is one of the most beautiful Porsche ever. But the flatnose option just kills it totally IMO.

One day i want to buy a 3.6 Turbo..

well, i like it, not that my opinion matters. would never pay that much for any car, but its still special.

i would like to add, for a real purpose, a pic of my 87 Slope nose, and my 85 Carrera Targa.

only for the reason that you can clearly see the evolution of the design if you look.

i am a gearhead, and not a " fan boy " of Porsche per se, but you can see the family resemblance, like it or not.

i wish Lambo would make that Miura concept. it was stunning.

most of the new cars out these days are just awful to my eyes.

Esthetics are personal, so it doesn´t really bother me that some folks don´t like the look of it. I love it..........and I´ve seen them in person.

I sold these when they were new.......but couldn´t find anyone to pay the price because in 1994 it was twice the price of a really nice middle class house in Calgary........$180K CAD + 7% tax........

In it´s day it was the fastest, hottest, as well as rarest 911 Turbo that you could buy.......and it was also the very last air cooled and rear wheel drive 911 Turbo. In many ways, it still is one of the hottest and most definitely without a doubt one of the rarest 911 Turbo models of all time. Collectors trip over themselves to buy these cars as there were a mere 76 flatnoses built WORLDWIDE.

If I won the lottery tomorrow I´d have two of them. One driver ane one garage queen.

I'm with ya on that....great investment piece. Love the unique looks (but I do like the upright lights more) and with the raw turbo power delivery of the turbo's from yesteryear.

The Turbo to get in the 964 lineup is the Turbo S sold in Europe.

Absolutely agree! I myself will have to "do" with the Turbo 3.6 though .. the "S"'s are astronomical in price due to the "no-volume" production.

That is INDEED a VERY special and rare car! One for a SERIOUS collector for sure! I would say as Porsche 911's go that one would be in the very top of the range as an "investment" vehicle!

I think she is a real beauty...of course the headlights were "stolen" from my preferred steed (the 928) so that is probably why I like it more than a "regular" 911! ;)

For you Turbo S lovers......you can get one of the 17 ´package´ cars to fulfill your needs.......basically you get all the goodies except for the flatnose......it´s identical in appearance to the yellow 964 Andrew posted.

    Tim C.......

Is that D.Davis´s old orange 930S in the background.......? That is one car I´d like to own.
