This is Shaq's (basktball player) mansion. It's huge! Here it is on Bing Maps: http://www.bing.com/maps/#JnE9eXAuc2hhcXVpbGxlK28rbmVhbCdzK2hvdXNlK29ybGFuZG8lN2Vzc3QuMCU3ZXBnLjEmYmI9NDUuNjkxNjAxODMwODkzMSU3ZS03Ni4yMjQxNDUyODM2OTE0JTdlNDUuNTE2NzQxOTEyMjQ4NiU3ZS03Ni43NjE3ODg3MTYzMDg2
I dont know if they get much bigger than this puppy. Of course nobody lives there anymore... so I don't know if it would count.
I have been lucky enough to have designed and built some of the largest homes in Southern California. You get a lot of heat from people saying why would anyone want such project. All I can say is that the world is a better place with people how want things like this. I have never seen anything wrong with someone employing hundreds of people for often over two years. http://lansner.freedomblogging.com/2010/03/10/95-million-home-envisioned-for-newport-back-bay/59243/
here is one for the file... 25,000 sq. ft. with all the toys.... waterslides..outdoor movie theatre....shhooting range Image Unavailable, Please Login
The house is in Coto De Caza, for an individual.. not a speculative project. I have been a member of F-Chat for a few years and only recently saw this thread !!!!!! More info and projects to follow...
Lynnewood hall check out these two site for information. The structure is amazing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lynnewood_Hall and this site to view more photos. http://www.lynnewoodhall.com/ Erik
Sad to see it in shambles like that...I can't imagine the cost to bring it back to its former beauty. The story behind that place is odd as well. The grounds (specifically location) and design of the exterior aren't my style, but definitely a lot of skill was put to use in designing and building it...for sure. I've always liked this house in west Orlando (technically Windermere): http://www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-detail/9922-Lake-Louise-Dr_Windermere_FL_34786_1112447629
Just caught this thread, number 1 Zephyr Cove NV Tranquility house, is Joel Horowitz, co-founder of Tommy Hilfiger's house for sale, ive been through it and a beautiful piece of property...
Homes used by Ian in the original chipmunks movie was very nice. Can't find any pictures of it on the net, but it was definately nice. Thanks,
Just came on the market in Cohasset MA for $55,000,000 a 10 Bed 7.4 Bath 24,000 Sq Ft home. 49 Margin St, Cohasset MA 02025 http://newengland.weichert.com/31838421/?cityid=5864%2c8539%2c10353%2c14273%2c14406%2c14928%2c14938%2c23454%2c24062%2c24295%2c24303%2c26758%2c30895%2c31201%2c31379%2c31384%2c33479%2c35088%2c35108%2c36522%2c36613%2c36918%2c36967%2c36982%2c37010%2c37075%2c37229%2c37623%2c40882%2c42096%2c42099%2c43932%2c45970%2c45972%2c45973%2c46601%2c47214%2c48131%2c48214%2c48709%2c54987%2c55446%2c56643%2c57015%2c57016%2c57017%2c57155%2c58128&mls=4 Image Unavailable, Please Login
That was designed well. Unlike this $100mm piece of crap in Orlando (Windermere technically): http://www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-detail/6121-Kirkstone-Ln_Windermere_FL_34786_1118384506 $75mm price if finished to the seller's specs (which is???) vs. $100mm if completed to the custom way of the buyer. One has to wonder if the $25mm difference is just plain drywall, paint, and popcorn ceiling, lol. Btw, the guy who is selling it halted construction on it a year ago. He owns the Westgate Lakes time share in Orlando. Guess the real estate bubble took a huge hit on him. You should see his ex-wife's house down the street...
http://tinyurl.com/28ohy5f Impressive, but somehow too much. There is a lot of style there, but none of it looks correct to me for what the house is, the era of it's construction... it just looks wrong IMO
What's the saying "neurotics build castles in the air, psychotics live in them"? I know that's way too harsh but...
I worked on many large, opulent houses during my career as an architect and could never quite understand the motives of those who commissioned them.
