Pix taken at Mas du Clos when owned by Pierre Bardinon, between November 1982 (when Bardinon bought it) and 2001 (when he sold it).

Mr. Massini, thank you for reply. Michael Sheehan says, that car was "Destroyed in a crash in Italy. The engine is now in the USA as a spare for another Superfast, the car no longer exists". Is this info correct? s/n 6049 SF no longer exists?

Also I found this info at barchetta: "the 12th Superfast was for many years at Mas du Clos, in 1990 the engine was offered by Richard McEntyre, CA for $150,000, in 2000 the car sold for $245,000 to Connecticut". So, car is still in good condition and lives in Connecticut?

Absolutely. The car is still in one piece and in very good condition. May I suggest to select your sources more carefully. Here are two pix showing engine and engine number, prior to restoration. Taken a few weeks ago.

Mr. Massini, I try select sources very carefully. Especially if Mike Sheehan referred to you:

Must have been a big one for car of its value not to be restored.
What model replicar would this motor suit?

Am I the only one who's curious about what the black felt-tip lines drawn on the engine are?

Main reason a friend of mine and the previous owner will not reveal details of the sale/purchase of a significant Ferrari as both are aware the damage brokers can do via a forum and the issue comments can cause to a cars future.

    You are not alone.

They don't even appear to be a correct felt-tip for the era.

Maybe the guy that took the engine apart marked it so he could get all the pieces back in their original orientation...either that or there's a little kid running around the shop making things look pretty.

I'd lean toward the latter, as almost any solvent will eliminate the marker lines.

I use lots of solvents while tearing down/building up an engine. Marks made with a prick-punch won't wash off.

The lines seem to be pretty much where horizontal sections would be and evenly spaced.

    Thanks

    Hi, Will
    I will agree with you
but the engine as it is now will not fitt in a 410 sport chassis.
there is no space or room there, when they made a new chassis or org chassis
to place the Fispa fuelpumps on the lower left side !
fispa must then have an directdrive on one of the cams.
    see pic below
must be the sams as youre Boanochassis
    here with a 128C engine.
    Well is guessing of course

First image is from Marsel Massini's previous post. Second image is from 2010 Gooding & Company's car profile...
Mr. Massini, why six Weber 40DCZ/6 carburetors was replaced by three type during the restorations? How many carburetors were fitted to 500 Superfast as standard? And why reds heads was repainted in black?

And is "SA" or "SF" letter "name" of this s/n 6049 500 Superfast?

    Thank you in advace.
