And I miss the flying that I did there in 1946-1950 in a Stearman or anything else that I had access to. It was so open and free then. We could land on many of the beaches or simply cruise the coastline and enjoy the scenery and buzz a few things without the hassle of the FAA...or whatever it was then. You wouldn't believe how nice and unknown it was then, wide open, uncluttered, unpopulated, and laid back. I have tasted the best there is.

Our house is in the Australian Pines where the incidence wire crosses them. A huge 13 story hotel occupies the ground to this side of Whispering Sands bayou and completely blocks any view of the sunsets that we enjoyed when I was a kid. Sick.

Bob, you and I need to sit and talk one day. I am sure you have stories about things that ALL of us would enjoy for hours on end.

Gosh, I don't know what in the world i could say. Really, I have done nothing extraordinary except to hang around for a long time. When I look at what others have done and are accomplishing, I I don't think that I belong in the same category. I am an inveterate dabbler BUT, being a good Irishman, I DO like to chat and to tell my stories. I certainly enjoy the posts of all those whom I think of as friends.
Tomorrow I pick up the CD's of all that I have written about my time here on earth, 150,000 words. I have been told that I should try to get it published so that is my next step but I'm not so naive to think that it will ever come to pass. At least my kids and theirs will have a record.
