If he actually does come back, I think a lot of people will lose respect for him. I know I will. To use a health issue as your cause and then say, nah, i spoke too soon. Pretty crappy.

Leach of Texas Tech does seem to be in rather hot-water as more info' is being released (as linked/commented on the previous page). Think he'll make it?

Lots of money due to him soon, along w/ lots more due if he's canned. It's hard to find truth nowadays in the press/news. I don't think Tech can afford to lose him, but if the allegations are indeed true, he should be severely reprimanded/punished in-house (suspended? fined? both?). Dealing w/ sports injuries is one thing, in order to preserve morale & get the most out of the players by precedence & action, but being personally vindictive and spiteful is another. . .

(by allegations, it's stated that the away-from-the-field time for the player in-question was also punitive physically/psychologically)

Then again, he is inevitably gonna leave Tech sooner than later for the pro's or a more esteemed program in the college ranks. Perhaps Lubbock should be timely & plan accordingly and deal w/ him, as it's gonna happen regardless (that he'll move on in due time). . .

My God Wisconsin dominates the Canes the entire game and then goes into a "prevent" us from winning defense and tries their arses off to lose the game in the last few minutes. No matter. 1-0 for my Big Ten.

My personal take on the Leach fallout:

... why the need to get personal, petty, and spiteful on a single kid, even if he's supposedly a pansy, when there are close to 100 other men on the field to deal w/.

I believe that was his undoing, the apparent nastiness & vindictive nature of the presumed instructions & how to go about it.

It's one thing to instill discipline, work ethic, morale, dedication/devotion/discipline/devotion, blah-bla-bha, but it's a whole other mess to do it by personal indignation.

It was the undoing of Woody Hayes & General Patton, as well as many others - even if their intentions were sincere & for a greater good, but their execution & timing was lousy.

(I've been a former h/s & collegiate athlete, as well as around D1 football from upclose & personal in the past as well as now... there are often times the need to set an example, dictate the mind-set of a squad or program, but it's never ever to be personal or w/ malice)

Regardless, big loss for Texas Tech & a short-term setback for Leach. I don't see him getting another high-profile head coaching gig at the collegiate level, more likely a coordinator later on or moving onto the pro' ranks. His odd personality was one thing, now this incident has tainted him towards esteemed & proud programs.

Tech needs to hire another vibrant/lively personality who will offer an innovative/flashy style of play (ala June Jones formerly of Hawaii & now @ SMU, Boise's Chris Petersen, Houston's Kevin Sumlin, etc'). Tech's got the money, and recruiting is what the staff makes of it considering the large pool of endlessly available players. . .

I'm afraid you are correct. I see us losing to both Pitt and Ohio State early next year. What a pitiful showing we had. Wisconsin should have been ahead by two touchdowns more, but the refs took one (calling the long completion incomplete) and the fumble cost them the other one. I really thought Miami was going to wrongly win the game after recovering the onside kick, but our offense refused to take advantage of the big momentum swings all night (like the other two turnovers). Congrats to Wisconsin, well played, and enthusastic at the same time. We had poor play and poor coaching to get ready for them.
Oh wait, it was below 70 degrees so that really was not fair to us...

On the hopeful side, 9-4 is how the 1999 season ended for Miami, and 2000-2002 had a total of two losses. The difference is that Ken Dorsey started playing in 2000.
    GO CANES!!!

BT, this bodes well for your game against us at the 'Shoe next year because now you have me thinking we should win the game, which likely means we will lose. I guess I need to see how we play against Oregon to see how I really feel. The good news is, like your canes, we are a very young team.

P.S. How about that PAC-10? Hahahahahahaha

PAC 10 is the only conference looking worse than the ACC so far. At least we won our bowl game against the mighty SEC...
I'm sticking with Miami has no chance against tOSU until after we play you guys.

Wannstedt led PITT generally starts off the season slow, and they usually play mid-major nobodies early on for a few weeks as primer games, even losing them (ie. Bowling Green, Ohio U, Toledo, Navy, etc') or barely beating them (ie. Buffalo, UConn, etc').

'Canes should be o.k. in an early season matchup against PITT, despite the Panthers resurging/improving as of late.

Hmmm, another weak Mountain West team won their bowl game today. Air Force totally dominated Houston, defeating them by about 20 points.....So far every Mountain West team has won their bowl...............weak a** teams.....

It looks like our ACC teams can only beat SEC teams! Tennessee gave Alabama and Florida a tough game, but VT seemed to roll on them.
If Cincinnati wins tonight I think the SEC will lose much luster, but I think Florida will win by about 17. Of course I have to root against tOSU, but don't feel bad Matt. Oregon is a quick finesse team, and Ohio State should be able to control the game.

Mountain West definitely looks to be by far the best conference in the bowls this season, PAC 10 looks by far the worst.

How many times did Auburn try to give that game away, today? I counted about 6
