How many folks would be interested in considering purchasing a Dino alternator, Euro mounting bracket, heat shield and wire loom for about USD $450-$500?

This poll starts as a result of the USA to Euro Dino Alternator conversion thread.

The USA alternator has a huge waffle canister type arrangement with a rear mechanical connection on the alternator to attach the USA air pump to. This makes the alternator unique and rare; I've heard one buyer say he was able to obtain one in the $2500 range which is high. IN addition thE waffle canister serves as the mounting bracket, also making the unit unique and heavy.

I've found a limited source for alternators that are compatible, I have also found a prospective producer of Euro style alternator bracket and have fabricated my own heat shield and wire bundle with insulated loom carrier. The manufacturer of the bracket needs at least 25 orders to get started and I just wondering if there is any interest.

I'm only ball-parking here to gauge interest so this is not a firm committment.

If there is no interest then dinoparts.de does make a very nice bracket for Eur 214.00 but todays exchange rate fully penalizes USA buyers.

Yes, at your suggestion I contacted Jacques - thank you!

Unfortunately, I was only able to obtain the last five of the Marelli Alternators and the seller says that years ago, he had to place a minimum order of 100 Alts to get Marelli to setup production. These were the tail end of his palletized shipment although he will look for others that may be in his Los Angeles warehouse. I see Dinoparts.de has similar Marelli units for
    € 342.00

Scott- this seems like a great idea and I think many people will be interested. I did my conversion using a GM alternator and although it was cheaper to buy I had to significantly adjust the mounting lugs on the alternator to properly line up with the pulleys. I would assume that most people are not interested in the 20-25 times installation/removal that I had to do to get it right. It gives the term pain in the neck new meaning. However it is done & works pretty good. One of the many advantages of your system is that it will fit right up and line up with the pulleys. I would just make sure that people know that the US cars and the euro cars have different belt width's. Whatever is on the crank pulley is what has to be on the alternator pulley (slimmer for US cars & wider for euro). It seems that you are a solution minded guy. So two other glaring needs (at least to me) would be ;if one could supply an assortment of nylock nuts in the correct cadmium yellow i
with the yellow nylock insert. I am replating my stuff but it would be much easier to just buy all new stuff and use those. I am sure that Ferrari sells em but probably crazy expensive. It can't be that hard. The other idea would be to make an exhaust system (ex headers) that will fit and sound good. This seems to be another item that is crazy expensive for what it is.Lets face it this one is not too sophisticated either. So that is my two cents!! By the way I need a new euro bracket & an alternator cover (i have the alternator) so you can add me to the list. Thanks for your efforts.

Scott- I did not see the nylock nut thread, thanks for pointing it out. I will try and replate what I have but likely will use new nylocks (not too concerned about the color). Thanks
