    There are three generations of Deltas (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lancia_Delta), but I suppose you are referring to the first one (1979-1994). The first generation run for a long period and there are many variants, from humble 1.3 and 1.5 liter versions to various Integrales, which makes it hard to give useful general advice: yes, the early ones rusted dramatically, and I haven't seen one of those for years. Integrales on the other hand have a following and it shouldn't be hard to find one that has been properly maintained.

    The Lancia Club in the UK has a very active forum: http://www.lancia.myzen.co.uk/forum. I'm pretty sure you will find a lot of useful information there.
