160k$ for a driver 5000S is too much money (now) 100k$ will get you one and at 160k $ you are looking at great DD and good lowbody cars in US
I hate when people do that , Why advertise the car if your asking price is way out of the park, It does not matter what make or model, its a 100 thousand dollar car, and the guys here are right it has no real documented service,,I would go look at the other cars that are for sale , Check with what Roy and the others have , then if your undecided , Go back with a 100 grand, He would be mental not to take it , but maybe he is .
another vote for Joe Frazars car. but i will admit my bias for the car up front, as i have helped Joe do small things here and there, and have had the absolute pleasure to drive it several times. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
First thing I thought. It'll look WAY better w/ the front sitting maybe 1" lower. A beauty, though. Good luck w/ your pursuit.
I got some info on Joes car. I thought you guys meant Joe Sackey, so i orginially PMed him instead of Joe Frazar. Thats what the confusion was. I'm looking at the pics posted by CARREAPER and looks like a QV or Anni cause it's got those side skirts. Got some info from Joe and he says its a 2V FI car. I didn't know they made any 2V cars with FI. Is this a 5000S made for the US? 500S in europe?? Sounds like a great price and since Im gonna be drivin it a lot, maybe would be a good idea to maybe not spend big $$$ on a carb car.
it has the 88,5 side skirts, 37 LP5000s FI from the factory plus a few carbed changed to FI to get them legalized in US.
I guess I wish I had a 100 grand or a Countach, or if I ever get 100 grand , I hope there is a Countach out there I can buy .!
Joes car is a FACTORY built 2v 5000S. As Raymond said, there were not many FACTORY ones made. i am stressing the "factory" part as Lamborghini made these this way to comply with USA emissions laws. there were also conversions done, taking carb cars and adding fuel injection to them. Joes car was done right and tuned by Lamborghini right on the assembly line. you can open the door, and hit the key from outside the car, the engine just starts instantly, no drama, no hesitation, no carb car " warm up " routine. if i wanted a Countach i would have bought his months ago. his price is great, and he is only selling as he has a ( now ) 2 year old son, and he cant drive all of his cars as often as he would like with his role as a multiple business owner , husband, and father. i want to add, i have purchased two Porsche 911's and a Lotus Esprit from Joe and have no complaints. i have no part in this cars sale, i am just well acquainted with the car, and i know its a great drivers car. i would think others in my position would also speak up if they knew of a very good car also. please dont take this as "spam". Michael
Have a good friend of mine (who owns a body shop in NY that specializes in these cars) who has seen this car and he his not imressed at all with this one
also wanted to comment on the prices people are asking. $160, is this guy in fantasy land? I guess you can ask for what ever you want. I think in reality, you can buy a nice one for half that. I think people are getting to wrapped up on the escalation of "asking" prices. Once the cars dont sell they will come back down to earth and set realistic asking prices.
I dont remember all the details,as I asked him about this car about a year ago. I did a mental dump after he told me, it wasnt the kind of car I was looking for. I need to call him anyway on monday & I will have him refresh my memory.
Only time will tell. If we all knew that to be the case, I would buy everyone on the market now. I witnessed the crazy speculation in the late 80's & early 90's. Good thing I couldnt afford to play then.
In Europe Countach cars increased in price about 3 times in 10 years (not taking into consideration exchange rates just Euro to Euro) the biggest jump has been in the last 3 to 4 years.. If you take into consideration the Euro/Dollar exchange rate they increased 5 times. Ten years ago in Europe non LP400 Countach cars were the equivalent of about $45,000. Today, always in Europe they are the equivalent of about $220.000 some more and very few less. I think they will still go up but not dramatically. As a Lambo investment I think the Diablo will hit the low point soon. With the Diablo one needs to invest in a particular model rather than just buying what is available. There are 5 or 6 good solid collector model Diablos that can be had for lees than most Coutach cars. From my experience the flagship model will go up in price one or two years AFTER the introduction of the 2nd successor (i.e. the Miura during the Diablo era, the Countach during the Muci era). Since the Murci is reaching the end of its run ......... Furthermore in 2013 there will surly be the 50th party and this will positively effect the pre Murci models.
i think this is a good time to buy take some time to find a good one for a fair price, but do not be worried to buy quick or spend 10k$ more for the right car if it should come up Joe F. FI 500S looks a good deal to me
My dad owns a factory 2V FI car and it runs very strong. He has had the car since new and at the time was given an "authorized" dealership through Joe Nastasi. So i have grown up around 6 or 7 of the factory cars. There are not many 2V FI cars around, and I personally know of 3 or 4 that were destroyed in the Florida area. Very rare cool car, and if setup correctly can be VERY fast. The Bosch FI parts are still readily available as well.
Joe's car has a lot of fans here! What's involved in this special set up for 2V FI cars to make them faster? Or is it just a matter of taking them back to stock? All the HP figures for 5000S that I've seen say 375 for the 2V carb cars. I'd assume the FI is lower than that? Maybe 345? Wonder how those 88.5 body parts ended up on there. Looks super cool tho. Black countach is the baddest looking thing ever.
i would prefer a carbed 5000S over an FI one, but it is also a matter of price and conditions Joe's car look good and a good example for the money (imo) a strong carbed 5000S should be faster than a good running FI, after 25 years it is all a matter of how well they are set up and mecanicals conditions
why is everyone in FL destroying their 2V cars? sounds like bad omen, hehe. to me these cars are more about style than speed. who's really gonna go driving around at 160 mph? and if ya want fast they got friggin hondas that go 160 now but who wants to drive that. you'd look like your car broke down and you took your girlfriend's car. Who's the PPI guy of choice in the GA area?
