Keep getting this reminder/fine for a car I once owned, for it being used on a tollway, without a pass. Have responded with the correct form ,now getting dirty letters ect. rang the greed doctors today, their comment the fine will come to you. My response well I'm not paying,as the car is still in my name just seize that.
Scumbags! I got caught going through the new "e-toll" in Brisbane last month. If you havent got a pass, they send you a letter/bill and you have to pay within 3 days. I called the next day and paid $3 over the phone via Credit Card payment. Lucky my friend in Brisbane told me about the new system otherwise I would have been ****ed. I asked what would happen if I didnt know and I was still on my 'driving' holiday for another few weeks. She said after the first letter/bill you will recieve a late payment notice and it will double. A week after that it would be $30 something dollars. Then a week after that it would be $100 etc..etc.. Something like that. Just got more and more expensives the longer you waited to pay it. Imagine the money they are making off people that wouldnt have a clue that they just drove through one. A few weeks later when they get home they will recieve a nasty suprise.
Unfortunately there are only going to be more tolls. All revenue is tied up running the bureaucracy. Was just talking to a friend tonight how I can't believe a simple service like an Ambulance isn't free. That should be covered from the income they get.
Not much fun having a car anymore, wait till green house tax time comes in. Went down to penny Royal yesterday near lorne, looking at a hoby farm, fell asleep nearly sitting on 100ks all the way.
Yep, looking forward to driving to Sydney on Monday at 115kph. The Hume now that its upgraded should be safe at around 150-160kph IMO. Would knock 3 hours off the trip.
My father often did it in 8 hours before the freeway and speed limits, now that was moving from Ford factory to liverpool. These days with one stop its about 8 hours if you are running at about 120ks.
8.5 hours Total driving time bobby from se melb to parramatta. Good run. Stopped off to meet Alexm on the way. Thanks for the coffee mate. Nice to put a face to the name. I do have bad news for you. Unless council grades that road, forget buying a Ferrari.
Cool. Nice to meet you! I'll make a point of meeting a few faces-to-names in 2010 I hope too. The road atm is actually good! but it's part of paying the price of living in the country and getting privacy.. I've often told the kids that if you can afford an F-car you can afford to grade few hundred metres of hard pack dirt and lay something down to boot lol. Hope your trip to Sydney goes well with your biz and you have fun with friends new and old! Let's do drinks next time I'm in Melbourne!
I may be there around the 18th Febuary mate. Lets get together for a drink somewhere if you like? Would love to catch up with the other scallywags again also! I will confirm the EXACT dates very soon, but more than likely be there from the 18th-21st.
Looking forward to catching up again PP! Make sure the 355 is full with fuel and warmed up for me eh!
Does anyone know of a organised Italian car day called AutoBella being organised on the 21st of Feb at Como park sth Yarra?Probably looking at driving down for the weekend..
Just finalising dates now. Be there late afternoon 18th Feb, wedding 20th, leave the morning of the 22nd to Sydney to watch AC/DC concert at ANZ stadium. Then, fly home the 23rd and back to work the 24th. Lifes tough when you cant get time off and have to do it all on your days off. I will have to hit the bossman up for 2 nights off to make this trip happen.
Take note of those dates PP! Remember, 355 fully fueled and warmed up ready to hit Black Spur. Ill bring my driving gloves too.
