Does any one know if would there be any patent laws broken by having embossed horse put on Ferrari headrests by independent company?

Not patent but trademark infringement if a commercial company is using the Ferrari logo without permission.

I am having black Cavallinos stitched into the headrests of my California (by the factory as an extra-camp special order). I got the idea on F-chat. It will set me back 1600 smackaroos.

That's pretty damn good. Can they do that on my forehead?

Just kidding on the forehead........ How about my arm?

Seriously though, that looks better than the factory work. Don't know about the $1600. I guess it is pretty labor intensive to remove the skin from the seat I guess.

I wonder how the Austrian oil company Avanti gets away with using what appears to be an identical cavallino rampante image...

Thanks for comments everyone. Tried to make a few improvements, bit more definition to outline and add more detail to head as you said Ovis but I think practice leather is too thick (thinner on car). Cleaned and treated with balsam. Think its ready now to try on headrests.

Whilst it does look good, I have to say it does not look original, the originals are not so 'bubbly' are alot flatter with detailing like the hooves ect.

    Still, looks good!

Looks good, but the mouth of the horse should be slightly open.

In addition to the stitching, which must be a custom. It is for stitching, not embossing.
Don't make me regret the expenditure :->

Here is what I had done on mine. I just provided a printed picture, the shop sent it to a lady who scanned it and embroidered it. Oh and the whole new interior didn't cost me much more than $1,600 :)

That's fantastic! Better than factory original, in my opinion.

Are you going to tell us how you did it, or did you place a copyright on the technique? ;)

Looks alot better 'in place'. Well Done!

I like the colour of the seats, with age, dark tan seats look fantastic in my opinion, and the black stitch looks great! I'm just hoping your car is Silver or Black!

    Regards
    Mike
