It's threads like this one that keep me coming back here. Thank you! I love seeing these cars during their 'un-coveted' years.

Add: Incidentally, does anyone know what the red Ferrari is at the top of the second post? Appears to be a rebody from the late 60's or special from the mid 60's but I'd love to know its story.

Ooooooh!! Thread of the day! Great pictures!

Can someone post the story of this place and list what happened to the cars?

    Regards,

Kind of looks like the Drogo rebody of the 250GTO 3445GT, here's the replica of that body on 4769GT (originally a 250GTE)... Copyright on the pic...

This is why I have been killing myself for losing the slides.... but I found them now after 10 years of searching..
The drogo 250 is well known...3405 I think.... as is the 166/212 INTER Touring, Marcel gave me its chassis number earlier.. checked now and it is 0048MM

but at that time flowers were growing through the floor..

Pierre de Siebenthal offered me .. only 16 years old... the Sebring and the 3500 GT Maserati for 500 Euros... I called my Granny and asked her if I could borrow 500 Euros ... and she told me to grow up...

    There you go...

I know Marcel has shots from this place but mine seems to be unique..,... Look at the background.. Aston db2/4 250 GT pf, 330 gts .... my god..... But who else saw this??

    Marcel?

    Cheers

    Nik

History of the scrapyard needs to be researched...But they also restored cars..

The owner was Pierre de Siebenthal, the racing driver... It got a tip from Rob Box in those days... (on the phone... he never knew I was 16..) of where to find it....

    Who can tell mor?
...I have SOME more slides... somewhere

De Siebenthal was a scrapyard owner and occasional race driver. His scrapyard was in the city of Lausanne, Switzerland. That was in the 70s and early 80s. They then built a new Badminton and Tennis center there and that is why he had to move. He went to a new scrapyard in Goumoens-la-Ville in the outskirts of Lausanne. Pierre De Siebenthal is no longer alive and his scrapyard is long gone. In the 70s and 80s I spent a lot of time there (at the first one he had in the city of Lausanne). I took tons of pix and wrote down all the chassis numbers. Yes, that is 0048 M (NOT 0026 M and NOT 0112 E) and 3405 GT and the photo of the so-called "Drogo" at the RM Auction in Monterey (post #10) has nothing to do with 3405 GT. No relation whatsoever. In the early 1980s I published an article about Pierre De Siebenthal's scrapyard in the FOC UK magazine, with many photos and a list of all the cars there. Photo #9 in post #2 is the 166 SC Barchetta "Touring" rebody by Fontana chassis number 012 I owned at the time by Jean-Pierre Zanchi but occasionally raced by De Siebenthal at the Coupe de l'Age D'Or in Montlhéry (18 June 1979) or the AVD Oldtimer-Grand Prix at the Nürburgring (12 August 1979). This car is currently undergoing restoration in California.

it would be nice to know the chassis numbers of the 250gt, the Mistral, the Sebring, the 3500gt, the aurelia, the DB24, the DB5, the DB4, the 330s, the 330 or 365GTC's .. just look in the background of the shots.. .. cars everywhere..

    over and out..

I alo visited Pierre several times in his later years. Iwas interested in the single seaters he had .He took us to one of stores in a remote villiage and on the top of a pile of several dozen Ferrari engines wa a single seater Cooper.

That was my point... The pics I posted (including the Ferraris) were not to tell these were the actual cars (I don't have enough knowledge for that) but "looked like" those cars.

Atlantic were ultra-rare: 3 made in total (you can find more info by doing a google search with "bugatti atlantic"), so that's why I mentioned "too good to be true"... Maybe it's a replica built on a bugatti (57 chassis) or built on another chassis...

Thank you for your clarifications. Of Course I never assumed those were the actual chassis but recognized they were Drogo and Touring bodied...

More info and pics on 3405GT, and Drogo bodied Ferrari here: http://www.coachbuild.com/index.php?option=com_gallery2&Itemid=50&g2_itemId=691

    Great pictures thanks for posting.

The car directly behind is a Maserati Indy, no idea what the Ferrari in the background is. 250PF?
